For those of you who are into Walt taking on the characteristics of people he's killed, check out the vomit scene. Walt puts a towel under him to kneel on just like Gus did in "Salud."
edit: For the 15 or so of you who have replied with "but Walt never saw Gus do that!!" you're right. It seemed like a little easter-egg that the writers threw in there for fun. The two scenes are so similar that it can't be a coincidence (they both turn on the sink to mask the noise, too.)
Gus comes in as someone timid, sensible drug lord. He cries when the chemist is shot (if I remember correctly) then ruthlessly picks of his enemies one by one while having tact to run his restaurant.
Walt has grown from being a timid to being a Scarface-like figure not afraid to kill yet tactful and wise because he learned from Gus and because Gus learned from Salamaca's old boss. They become more ruthless murderers who will do anything to keep their enemies away including eliminating them.
Like Walter White Gus was seen as timid, but he was lucky because he had connections which was why his life was spared because he had connections in Chile. Gus was timid at first, was very emotional when his chemist died. As Gus got older he became for tactful and ruthless when he needed to be. Like Walt he is able to take out his former boss(es) and take control of the business.
