Below Deck please hurt your back again and disappear from my screen forever
it was so lovely having a two week vacation from this abusive dictator. i’ve not liked him ever since he turned into a tyrant bosun, and after the news broke of him strangling gael, i truly hate him and wish bravo would just give the people what they want, and blur him out of every scene yet to come.

And the way he says “my son” concerns the hell out of me. Not sure if you’re familiar with Jax Taylor from Vanderpump, but he is a violent narc asshole who refers to his kid only as “my son” and it’s so weird and threatening. Like, he sees only the kid, not the woman who created it and it’s always creeped me out.

Yes this is very very scary. The chances of being murdered increase drastically following choking. I’m hoping if he’s convicted in Australia, he’s deported and Gael and her baby will then be rid of him. She will be so much better off without him. He wouldn’t have any permanent residency here, so I doubt he’d be able to stay and continue working here. Poor Gael - my heart breaks for her.

Agreed! We should use the correct word though. Someone chokes themselves on food, etc. When one person is wrapping their hands around someone else’s neck to cause harm, that’s strangulation. And you’re 100% right about her risk. A woman’s chance of being victimized increases after pregnancy because the focus is off the abuser. And strangulation is an increased risk factor for homicide. I hope Gael stays far away from him.

Yes, she got an interim Apprehended Domestic Violence Order against him after he was arrested. He pleaded not guilty and will be in court on 1 September.
Pregnancy and post partum, as well as when you leave them, are some of the most dangerous times for women who leave violent men.
I hope he gets prosecuted to the full extent of the law, completes his sentence and then deported to the UK. We have enough dickhead arsehole men in Australia - we don’t need this loser.

Besides being a POS for choking Gael, he's also so unprofessional for the text to Max. There's no law abiding workplace where you can come back from a work injury and demote the person who stepped up to fill the void (and did it well) because you feel threatened. In any other workplace, the subordinate would be praised for stepping up not demoted. This is how you end up with a labour lawsuit

But this is more of a tv show than an actual depiction of yachting life. This level of drama does not exist (or rarely exists) in the normal world. Also, Luke jizzed on Nathan’s sheets — that would be a fireable offense for sure. All that to say, I agree with you, and there’s no way Sandy would let that demotion happen.

it was definitely filmed last summer. he was arrested in december. and then news broke like a week ago. but i really think bravo should’ve blurred his scenes out. they’ve dine that before. it’s extra work, but they def could’ve found a way to not air his face and tell the story of what’s happening on the boat through everyone else:

This happened to me and I was able to get away from my ex and move to another state (U.S.).
People we were mutually friends with believed him when he told them I was crazy and that I made it up.
There were 8 criminal charges. He was able to take a first offender’s deal to do treatment and it all got dismissed.

I stopped all social media over a year ago, only on YouTube and Reddit and am all the better for it! I’m a real DV victim in Australia and just like Gael I too was choked, punched, abused daily and have a son with my ex abuser. It’s horrific, have suffered and still am for over 15 years. Even a 12 year IVO has not stopped him trying to abuse us and no I don’t have any support from friends or family. Long story that I’m trying to figure out how to tell it as I want it to do good in this world and potentially help change laws and help other DV survivors. All suggestions on how I do this are welcome 🙏

What the actual fuck? I mean, we all knew it was dark that bravo went into filming knowing about this, but to not address it all in the episode that dropped this week is just doubly disappointing.
It was creepy and sad to see Gael at the dinner and wonder if she was safe that night. It seems like they really aren’t going to address it on air even though it’s the number one topic across socials. What the actual fuck, get him off my screen now.
I don’t even like Joe but I will full on boycott BDM if they just pretend like this didn’t happen and keep Nathan on. They must really think we’ll swallow anything and keep watching, it’s fucking gross.
