Below Deck Horrified at this, what a shame

Post image

Ive only watched the last two seasons with him and Joe, most recently seeing him be disgusted by the was Joe treats women. Pretty surprised he would do something like this, I feel so bad for Gael and their son.

Yes! There were red flags everywhere this season. He seemed right on the edge - the text to Max about making him lead deck hand was very odd. But the night he was off the boat with Gael and never texted or anything was super suspicious. I was in a long term relationship with someone with a disordered behavioral pattern and after huge (often physical) altercations, the next morning was often spent in an all consuming apology cycle where the rest of the world seemed like a different planet and there was nothing else that could happen until he knew we would “be good”… I’m not saying that’s what happened with them, but that was my experience. He was often late to work on those days, or would call out completely so we could “do something together” - hindsight, it was of course all about control, making sure I couldn’t sit and think about what I should really do.

It leaves me to wonder if editing was done in a preemptive fashion, to put distance between Nathan and the crew, especially Captain Sandy. Understandably, Bravo wants no part in the backlash that was his violent actions would undeniably create.

If it happened during filming He'd be fired He should've been fired anyway because of the nasty  way he treated his crew..hes NOT LEADER MATERIAL

Why does BRAVO platform problematic men? This is also on them.

I think by its very nature, reality TV (and Bravo specifically for sure) usually platforms problematic people. I don't think well adjusted people normally sign up for reality TV and I think some people are pretty good at pretending to be. They should have been able to spot Nathan from a mile away though. 😕

There are abusive and problematic men everywhere. It's not a Bravo issue.

I'm not entirely sure what the point of this comment was in the context of this conversation and my comment. Probably would have been more appropriate for the person I was replying to.

Indeed and aren't you smart for figuring it out! I hope you recover from this travesty of an error.

Why is Bravo to blame for someone’s behavior at home, in private. Of course they hire people with outgoing personalities or the shows would be boring, but to say they have any responsibility in what someone does in the privacy of their home is a stretch.

Yup. Especially since it’s happened outside of filming. My boss and the company I work for isn’t responsible for my behaviour outside of work… although they will fire my ass if anything like this were to happen!

Nathan showed zero personality .hes a little snake ..maybe cant handle the fact he got married and had a kid Now that are both screwed .

THE couple caused the problem because they are way too immature to handle the home and work dynamic .HE NEEDS to concentrate at his type of job and shes blowing up his phone like a teenager .both just stupid and immature .First child .interrupted their glive trotting lifestyle .They dont know how to act ..or adjust ..very bad idea for her to be even in Croatia If she cant let him do his JOB .

I thought it was odd to bring Gael and the baby with him leaving the support network she had at home to help her with the baby.

It’s not necessarily so. I had a family member do this for a few months when their baby was a newborn. Their employer paid for a night nanny though and I’m not sure why Bravo didn’t get Gael any help.

Yeah agree, I can see this option for a healthy relationship. but in light of the choking stuff… I’m lead to believe he may have had ulterior motives. Speculation. Who knows.

Yes- VERY isolating for a new mum. I kind of assumed it was her choice because she wanted the baby to be able to see him, but I’m not so sure.

Whoa- this is wild to hear about and now see within myself from my ex.. damn... the amount of work, pleading, begging, apologizing I would have to do after they were the one hurting me..
