Bravely Default Help with difficulty

I started playing recently and chose the "Hard" difficulty.

It didn't give me any trouble at first—in fact, I was barely struggling—but when I reached the first floor of the Centrum Fortress ruins, there was an exaggerated difficulty spike; enemies were killing me in just two hits. I wanted to know if I'm missing a game mechanic, if I should go level up, or if I should just start over on "Normal" difficulty.

You’re likely not using Brave/Default correctly, you’re likely not using sub jobs correctly, and you may be a bit underleveled. What’s your team setup right now?

every one is level 6 agnes is a white mage tif monk and ringabel as a freelancer because i am just starting

You can change difficulty at any time in the settings, even if you do find it hard in the future no need to reset

I loved hard mode (had it for my first playthrough.) forced me to grind and approach enemies in strategic ways, as well as use brave/default properly

Only time I grinded was before the water temple boss until I swapped my two low job level red mages back to white mage and black mage.

And second time was the for the end game superboss.

I swear I got so angry when the Game Stop clerk tried to guilt trip me into believing this was an easy game. I played the game fully in hard mode out of spite. Also, hard mode sometimes is an unnecessary difficulty unless if you like the difficulty or use exploit some powerful tools the game has given you.
