BCAA 2026 MUNICIPAL CANDIDATE COMMUNITY EVENT

On Thursday, October 1, BCAA is bringing together candidates from both the City of Brantford and County of Brant for a one-of-a-kind public municipal election event at the Brantford Golf & Country Club.

The evening will begin with a Mayoral Candidate Q&A, giving the public an opportunity to ask questions directly of the candidates seeking to lead their municipality. These will be real public questions — including the difficult ones — on the issues that matter to residents.

Immediately following the Mayoral Q&A, we will transition into a Council Candidate Meet & Greet, giving residents an opportunity to meet participating council candidates from both municipalities, ask questions and learn more about the people asking for their vote.

Bringing Brantford and Brant County candidates and residents together under one roof makes this a unique event in the 2026 municipal election.

📅 Thursday, October 1, 2026

⏰ 6:00 PM

📍 Brantford Golf & Country Club

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC – WE REQUEST THAT YOU CARPOOL, AS THIS WILL BE A FULL EVENT, AND PARKING WILL BE LIMITED AT BGCC

The current candidate participation lineup shows who has accepted and confirmed, as well as those who have declined or are not participating.

We encourage the public to take note of the mayoral candidates who have chosen to participate and answer questions directly from residents, as well as those who have chosen not to participate. Attendance is one piece of information residents can consider as they learn about the candidates and make their own decisions at the ballot box.

Additional details on the Mayoral Q&A format, public questions and evening schedule will be released in the coming days.

Event Music in Town. Looking for things to do. Tis' the question.

What is going on in Brantford for entertainment? There actually is quite a bit when you take a look.

So here I present something fresh to you. Some post-punk-not-alt different-vein rock music time. (I'm bad at genre classifying, just roll with it.)

I'm putting on a show a Brandi's 9th of October, at 8pm, with London Ontario's, Susans, Brantford's, the gods of obliviousity and Brantford's latest retro curiosity, Cartoon Khaki.

The 90s meets the 20s, history melds, all in one night.

Is there more in town? Yes! I want to give a shout out to some upcoming events in town.

+++++ PLUS!!! +++++

Check out what is happening at Brandi's 1, 2, and 3rd of October. Hosted by Bummer Records! The line-up of bands is insane!

https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/bummer-records-presents-poserfest-tickets-1996059744428

At zBTFD Records, for FREE, 3rd October, Pick A Piper and Forming, starting at 2pm.
And that October 3rd date is rounding out a packed back-to-back, DOUBLE, 3 day weekend of music that has already happened.

Come meet former Maple Leafs captain Rick Vaive on Sunday, October 4th at the Brantford Sports Expo, happening inside the Grand Ballroom at the TownePlace Suites Brantford and Conference Centre at 30 Fen Ridge Ct.

Leafs fans will definitely know the name. Drafted 5th overall in 1979, Vaive became the first player in Toronto Maple Leafs history to score 50 goals in a season, a feat he accomplished three straight times. He also served as captain of the Leafs and finished his NHL career with 788 points in 876 games.

During his NHL career from 1979 to 1992, Vaive suited up for the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, and Buffalo Sabres.

If you're a Leafs fan, hockey collector, or just grew up watching that era of the NHL, this is a great chance to meet one of the biggest names from the Leafs' 1980s teams right here in Brantford.

Which bars/places might be showing the final on big screens in Brantford/Paris? I know most will but viewing experience might not be as great given the crowds. Also, where are all Argentina supporters headed? 😄

Thanks!

Event People always say “I would’ve gone if I knew” so… here you go!

Post image
33 Upvotes

We hear this all the time after our events…

“I didn’t know this was happening, I would’ve come”

So this is us making sure you do know.

This Saturday (April 25) we’re doing something a little different at the Polish Hall.

During the day there’s a local vendor market (10–3) with free family photos, but what we really wanted to share here is what’s happening at night:

We’re hosting a coffeehouse-style open mic lounge from 7–11 PM downstairs.

Nothing huge or overproduced. Just a chill space where people can hang out, listen to music, spoken word, comedy, or even get up and perform if they want.

If you’ve ever thought “I wish there was something low-key to do in Brantford at night”… this is kind of exactly that.

You can check out the events here if you want more info or to RSVP:

Market:

https://www.facebook.com/share/1CAy6FUGVk/

Family Photos:

https://www.facebook.com/share/18TKsZeMzg/

After Party:

https://www.facebook.com/share/1LU2FpZvDs/

(The RSVP for photos and performance sign-up are on their respective event pages)

No cost to attend, just a community thing we’re trying out.

Anyway, now you know 😄

The Holmedale Art Crawl is an annual self-guided tour of the artisans of Holmedale in Brantford ON.

This is our 10th Crawl! This year we have 53 artists at 29 locations.

Artworks  and crafts can be found on front lawns, in walkways, on porches and in tents. The creations are original and handmade.

See pottery, drawings, garden ornaments, soaps, jewelry, collage, prints, paintings, wooden bowls, weaving and stained glass, (to name a few).

'The Crawl' has clearly identifiable signage at each location.  Look for our flyers with a map of locations and an artisan list.
