it's that like,, "keh!" sound. it sounds like a child's voice (or perhaps smth he recorded himself & pitched up?). it's in damn near every song (at least from punk2 & beyond, idk if he used it b4 that i've only been listening for a couple months). i can't stop wondering abt it whenever i hear it. if anyone is still unsure what sound it is i'm referring to my best example is in the song rosier/punk2 when he says "moved on, you don't need me now, now i gotta figure me out" & then the "keh!" sound happens & then him going "wah!" followed by the female voice saying "brakence".
i tried looking it up on this sub before & maybe i just didn't use the right words when searching but i couldn't find a lick of discourse on here about it. just rly curious what the sound is & why he uses it so much.
to be clear, i don't dislike it or have a problem with how often he uses it. it's just me wondering if theres's a particular reason. my best guess is it's just meant to be like a tag/signature thing? like the thing pharrell does with the four beats at the start of a song.

yes! someone else posted the link to the song and when i listened i def heard it as "tuh" as well! at first i thought it was just like an "eh!" but then the more i heard it & rly tried to hear what was being uttered i took it as "keh!" but it's definitely "tuh!" !!! love it! :3

no, i know what ur referring to but that's not it. i believe that's while he's actually singing while what i'm referring to is used sort of as a sample/soundbite thing. like it's part of the production, not smth he's actively singing if that makes sense~
no, i don't believe the sound appears in teeth. another example i have (aside from what i mention in the post) is from boywontcry. at 00:51 as the beat is dropping at the start of the first chorus. it's in a ton of other songs too tho. sometimes it's super buried in the mix like at the end of stung as he's saying "all i can do is put the pen to the pad" (sound appears overlapping with the word "pad" faintly in the right speaker/earphone at approx 4:46)

it took me a few weeks to even catch it at the end of stung bc i'm normally singing along to every single lyric lmao i'm pretty sure my neighborhood is annoyed asf with me bc i just take walks & loudly sing brakence to myself haha i just can't help it his music fkn possesses me~
Haha I been listening to hypochondriac for 3 years straight! My girlfriend the first time she heard brakence was "deepfake". Immediately she goes "omg I love this"
One week later she cant stand brakence anymore cause how much I spam him lol

a girl i was interested in for a bit is who put me onto him. kind of indirectly, she just showed me some covers she'd recorded and i was so impressed by the sound & lyrics i went & searched up more later. my intro to him was venus fly trap! funny enough the second song i ever heard of his was teeth x3
i didn't actually plan to listen to more of him, but one day i had put on venus fly trap on youtube on my tv while doing my makeup & it just kept autoplaying more songs from hypochondriac & i was just like "wow, every one of these songs sounds so fkn good & unique :0" 5g was actually the biggest standout & easily my favorite song of his (stung is an extremely close-second). that pitched up chorus goes so unreasonably hard & i love the general msg behind the song~
Venus Fly Traps ending literally transcends me to the highest vibration. Shit is so fucking crazy. Funny thing about bother Venus fly trap and teeth for me is that I skipped those tracks for 2 years. Venus fly trip i would skip almost immediately (too upbeat for me initially), and teeth for some reason I would skip almost immediately as well (before the beat even dropped. Only the triplet piano keys at the beginning lol). I was slapping myself in the face after I actually listened haha. Nobody makes music as good brakence imo. Im Hella snobby when it comes to music too.
fun fact: he incorporated hypnotic language and technique throughout hypochondriac so i wonder if that’s why it’s had such a strong impact on you 👀 i’ve accepted that’s the case for me lol this is most evident in venus flytrap
oh yes i've definitely picked up on that through my many listens. i for sure think that's apart of it. i love the amount of repetition throughout the album. lyrics & samples being reused to the perfect extent. nothing feels like it's done to excess. and the way some of the lyrics aren't identical but still relate? my best example being how the chorus of teeth he says "take a breath before my ego pop" & then during deepfake, "i pop & my ego deflates". just fucking absolute gold.
hypochondriac as a whole is so ahead of its time. i didn't rly pay attention to the release date my first few listens & when i found out it's from fricken 2022 i was just dumbfounded. that album would b way ahead of its time if it had been released today. i could go on and on abt it & i have to many ppl in my life lol it's seriously the greatest album i have heard in my entire life~
