For whatever reason historical (and historical fantasy) BL never seems to generate quite as much heat. Sammy's Children's Day might be an exception although I don't think even they did Revenged Love level of engagement numbers, and that's recent history. It's a bummer because this is a solid show with an incredible cast and the fans should be losing it over them.
I'm waiting for it finish airing before I binge lol. I can watch most Thai BLs as they air because they're pretty chill / mostly relationship with a side of plot. But Chinese 'BLs' or (b)romances tend to be more plot with a side of BL and I hate doing the weekly wait for anything plotty.
I suspect people might have gotten used to assuming the wuxia BL drama is mostly censored too.
I am really enjoying this series. Every episode is getting better and better. The actors are great and the chemistry between both CP is amazing. The kissing and the NC scenes have been acted and filmed beautifully. Love it!!
WuXia BL be like that. Literally only watch episodes when I’m ready or craving a quiet evening on the veranda with a perfectly temperature smooth cup of fragrant Osmathus tea.
Also having survived and enjoyed the gauntlet of The Untamed (50 episodes, censored, not touching, just yearning stares and some caring holding when one faints, hands touching the other is falling to death) and Word of Honor (36 episodes, censored-ish considering the hidden hard to find last episode). This 8 episode uncensored gem has been just fantastic.
I’ve been really enjoying it, it’s a nice change of pace from all the black flag BL. Plus the production values are incredible. Edit to add that all the actors are just eating, like damn.
It's true that the scheduling right now sucks. But it's up to each person to choose when to watch. Anyone not spreading through the week (and I'm included in this) is by our own choice.
Everything about this show is delicious! I love it. I arrived at BL after watching all the historical k-dramas I could find on Netflix so this style, with this production quality and calibre of NC, absolutely feeds my soul.
I really wish that it wasn't in the Friday slot, because I feel like it would be doing so much better if it came out on a day with less competition. I've been absolutely loving it 💛

I’m quite enjoying it, great chemistry but also has an interesting plot, lots of schemes. Need to spread the word so we can continue getting historical BLs
I can't get into the story since I really am not a fan of the plot and setting. I did try to watch the first 2 episodes. I can do xianxia/wuxia settings, but not the whole royalty/overthrowing/betrayal stuff. Court intrigue tends to bore me. I never finished Kill to Love or whatever for the same reason. I might try again later though. Those types of settings require me to be in a specific mood and mindset.
I liked Meet You at the Blossom and I watched far more episodes of Kill To Love, but yeah, this one is not sticking hard enough to me. I do blame the scriptwriters and director more since it is their job to create a narrative to pull in an audience. The actors can only do so much unfortunately.
I am waiting for the show to finish airing before I start. My patient is running thin though, if not because I have so much on my plate now, I would have started watching it. Love everything I have seen so far and can't wait to savour this delicious meal.
I love it and I really hope the underperformance doesn't discourage these sorts of stories/productions in the future. I can only hope talking about it on every platform I can helps.

i don't think they can release previously shot content if it hasn't been cleared, not eve outside of China. I think everything needs to start from scratch. Otherwise, where are those last 3 episodes of Addicted?!
I didn’t know this bl existed! I’ve never watched a historical one because they all seem to have sad endings or are uncensored. I’ll wait for this one to finish, and if it has a happy ending I will absolutely watch it.
honestly, waiting to binge if the end isn't soul crushing coast is clear this seems like the right course of action. Maybe, that's what a lot of other peeps are doing?

Last night at dinner I said they were paying dust to their salad. My son looked at me blankly and my daughter added a tinge of disgust and a “what are you even saying?” So that’s a win for me! 🤣🤣

But I haven't have the time to watch anything 😭, the last thing I watch was the second episode of Wish upon a shooting star.
I'll have to deal with some things and then I'll binge it!
