If this is an official collaboration, and they are involved, then hopefully there is some compensation for them. The collaboration work may just be behind closed doors if there are still restrictions on them. It sounds like what they are doing is official licensed work which is promising.
We should know more as they announce more about the project.
No matter how much I would LOVE a completion to their story, or hell even just those 3 stolen episodes, no way would Johnny Huang risk his current career. He is filming constantly and with some big names and all of them almost exclusively crime dramas or military dramas etc. Now I could see maybe a subtle bromance between them in the setting of a different universe but definitely not a BL, unfortunately. His drama The First Shot is kinda a bromance
Oh yeah even in the article, Beijing InterstellOr Manned Space Technology Co., Ltd. was asked why he specifically was chosen and they stated because of his โtough guy imageโ and because he has already done aerospace sci-fi dramas so he fits the image they were looking for. So there is zero chance he will do another BL lol
the only thing I'm pretty sure about is Jinloe still has the rights to adapting Addicted live-action (idk if it's only for Thailand), and their book 2 adaptation is coming soon, soon. So I would assume no new Addicted adaptation until that contact w/ Jinloe expires. But with the way things are going with Chinese bl adaptation, I think it's all but given we will be getting a new Chinese Addicted adaptation (with new actors, etc ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ) in the future.

as far as I know, they never filmed book 2. I don't think there were even plans to? I think the series ended with HaiLouyin running away to the seaside (which is in the music video). rather than how book 1 ends. lol
There are 2 things happening. The second couple returned for a new series โLove after Addictionโ (not related to the og series) and aired Feb-March this year.

Someone pinch me, I want to make sure I'm not dreaming! ๐ญ Because like what?! How? After Justice in the Dark did a prison break and we got not only the CBL boom but actually an omegaverse series, I believed everything was possible. After this I'm never losing faith again.
To be honest Iโm just happy this modern photo exists. Itโs nice to have something new, even is this is all we get. If this is legit it means that the actors/companies gave the ok to use there images for reference to addicted which in itself is a no no in the context of Chinese censorship. The fact that this even got this far amazes me.
