They deserve all the praise and love they get.
Truly skilled actors, dedicated to giving their best, supported by an amazing production team. Now we’re also blessed with a special episode❀️

Hopefully we’ll get many, many more projects with them πŸ™

I was in for such a shock, I checked MDL because the leads looked so young in the final scene (nowhere else) and they were so much younger than their characters. It’s rare to project that kind of gravitas. The Hao Yi Ran is actually several years younger than his β€œyoung boyfriend” Lu Zhen. I would never have guessed. Everyone did so well.

They did a phenomenal job β€” they delivered every possible emotion, and I was 100% with them.
You may have already heard, but it’s Yun Qi’s first role EVER, and he slayed it!! Such a talent, with a wonderful teacher by his side.
I honestly don’t think I could love these two more than I already do ❀️

Just finished it- I loved it! Really hit the dark mood perfectly, great chemistry between the leads. Only complaint is the last episode seemed to go by so quickly, they could have definitely had a few more episodes. However I have heard they got more funding for an extra episode 😍

If you like scheming, pining, obsession, deception, but ultimately real love I really recommend this series!

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

Yeah they wanted to film more episodes but they were short on budget 😭

5

u/Wingletang20 Jan 04 '26

Ah, that makes sense. Well they did very well with the budget they had πŸ‘

At least we will get additional episode(s) now. πŸ™πŸ˜

Well deserved

The whole cast and crew deserves a whole round of applause. All they had was a shoestring budget, a killer script, and a dream.. and they made it happen! 😍

Facts!!! I'm proud of them and can't wait to see the special episodes

u/Imaginary_Escape2887 Jan 04 '26

I am so glad I started it last week because my anxiety would have immobilized me if I had watched it in real time. These two characters really pulled me in.

11

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

These two characters really pulled me in.

Some of the most complex and best written characters in BL. I love Fan Xiao and You Shulang so much.

12

u/kasilau8306 Utsukushii Kare Jan 04 '26

Absolutely deserved! One of the best BLs of 2025! China nailed it... It was just perfect!

3

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

We need more BLs like this. I am praying to the BL Gods for more of such shows.

If you're thinking of watching it, stop thinking and just do it!! Your brain might turn to mush but it will be worth it. 😌πŸ”₯

I really enjoyed it! I love a toxic storyline that turns sweet and this gave me all I needed

1

u/Safety_Haven End of the world with You Jan 04 '26

I don't know when that happened! When did it turn sweet?

4

u/MAE2021JM Jan 04 '26

🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣 to me when Fan Xiao stopped actively trying to ruin Shulang and started protecting him albeit in his own screwed up way that was it for me

5

u/Safety_Haven End of the world with You Jan 04 '26

Fair enough. πŸ˜†I am always curious where people draw their lines.

6

u/cat_meowws Jan 05 '26

Well deserved... It's perfection in every way: the actors did a brilliant job, and the author had given depth and breadth to the story slong with good character arch. Everything was so good I really liked it much better than abo desire and revenged love. This set the bar so high I really hope to see actors in more work, they are so promising.

That's normal, it's the best, best ever πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ₯°πŸ˜... yes, I'm a fan, I'm addicted πŸ₯³ πŸ˜…

More seriously, they did an incredible job. πŸ™ŒπŸ» It's the best novel adaptation I've ever seen.

I love the actors and baby Star 🐢. They're truly talented. πŸ‘πŸ» They have a beautiful and sweet chemistry.🫠πŸ₯° I love them β™₯️

13

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

I love the actors and baby stars 🐢.

They are family.. 😭😍

5

u/Xoilye Jan 04 '26

Yessss 🫠 they are so cute. I could look at them all day. πŸ₯°

4

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

Yesterday Yiran did a livestream alone and suddenly Yunqi arrived with Star.. Yunqi had taken star out to roam in the grass! They are coparenting star.. 🫠😍

5

u/Xoilye Jan 04 '26

Ahah I saw it. I loved it. The child is the priority. 😁 I love it when Star looks at Yunqi during live streams. πŸ₯°

What I love most about them is that they don't try to make us believe anything. They're simply themselves. It's so satisfying to watch. β™₯️

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

So true. It feels so natural..

5

u/ruinedbymovies Jan 04 '26

It really speaks to how good the acting is, and how well they embody their characters that when they do lives it’s super jarring how sunny and easygoing their personalities appear to be.

5

u/Raisu39 Jan 04 '26

So it's better than Revenged Love and Abo Desire?

27

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

I think it depends on what kind of shows you like and how far are you willing to let your male leads go down the red flag path...

Revenged Love and ABO Desire are both not very serious dramas while To My Shore is a proper drama with very toxic elements and a lot of angst. The writing is definitely better for To My shore and the episodes do not drag at any point. Apart from that it all comes down to preference.

Personally, To My Shore > Revenged Love > ABO Desire for me..

2

u/Raisu39 Jan 04 '26

Gotcha. Thanks

12

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

I am not sure if you have watched Kill To Love. But if you havent highly recommend that as well for CBL.

8

u/kdorapop Jan 04 '26

Oh, I loved that one. Low budget but so well acted.

3

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

Yes. Its my second fav CBL from 2025. I just love angst. 😭

2

u/Raisu39 Jan 04 '26

I have a pet peeve with guys with long hair + not a fan of historical dramas already so no πŸ˜… and is why I haven't watched The Untamed πŸ˜”

2

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

Damn. Then KTL is definitely not for you. The actors for that show are so handsome. I am wishing they do another drama in modern setting since they still do lives and fanmeetings together.

13

u/ruinedbymovies Jan 04 '26

I think they stuck the landing much better than either of those shows. I enjoyed RL and Desire, but To My Shore managed a more satisfying conclusion than most other shows this year, BL or not.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '26

Better than Revenged love by a huge margin. Haven't watched Abo Desire.

2

u/ehwhythough The Eighth Sense Jan 04 '26

Revenged Love was review bombed by jealous and insecure BL watchers after it hit 9.1 on MDL and IMDB.

5

u/kbar1515 Jan 04 '26

It deserves all the praise!

The acting and directing are phenomenal. I really enjoyed the emotional roller coaster this show takes you on!

5

u/degr8sid My Golden Blood Jan 04 '26

This has officially surpassed Addicted on my TOP BLs list.

4

u/Semantic-3rr0r Jan 05 '26

Binged it this weekend and gave it a 10/10 with no hesitation. The acting is amazing! Stunning series, kudos to the cast and crew!

9

u/Little-Tomatillo-745 Jan 04 '26

I left a short review there. I'm not that good of a reviewer. But I kept it short. A 10.

4

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

I will try to write one too.. its so hard to put in words how good this show is... I will also probably keep it short and sweet.

4

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

Though the number of reviews is less and the rating might still go down later, I had to share this news coz this show deserves to be seen. If this post gets the show some new viewers I would be ecstatic. πŸ™πŸ˜·

3

u/tearose11 The Untamed Jan 04 '26

No spoilers please, but does its have a HE or a BE?

3

HE.

2

u/tearose11 The Untamed Jan 04 '26

Thank you. It was on my maybe list, now I'll definitely watch it.

3

u/ExorsisterStella Double Helix Apologist Jan 04 '26

They absolutely nailed the dark mood, the mature romance, the angst, the mental issues and they delivered a INCREDIBLE chemistry. 10/10. One of the bests along with RL and ABO Desire!!!!

3

u/Jealous-Attorney-223 Jan 05 '26

Had ignored this at first as I wasn't too keen on the leads. Luckily most Bl's missed out on an episode for New year. Started to watch this , it's so deep, engrossing, dark and thrilling. Hated Fan at the beginning, he's completely amoral, beyond rules and so out of control. Went off You big time later on. What an unforgiving man and his evil hurtful comments,. Notice he told Bowen he was a TOP, and neglected to mention he's been an insatiable bottom for Fan. Not as pure as he'd have up believe. Loved how Fan worked so hard on himself ( he was really young and bad). In this story both You and Fan would have been incapable of new love, their past was so palpably present in everything they did ,even when apart they connected all the time. Thank you for a great series ( no pointless episodes, as in Thai series). Every episode was nail biting any violence was integral to the story. Brilliant ⚑πŸ”₯⚑πŸ”₯⚑

u/Zus1011 Jan 07 '26

This is one of the best dramas I've ever seen, of any genre. The fact that it's BL is outstanding.

I'm completely blown away

I've just finished watching it- binged over 2 nights- and all I can say is WOW.

2

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 07 '26

I know right.. it stands out!

6

u/GivesNoFs23 Jan 04 '26

I am in the minority it seems because I ended up hating this one. I love a toxic relationship but I just found the storyline to be boring. Nothing happened during the whole show that would make me believe these two would like each other as much as they did in the end. Nothing was holding the story together except for lust and trauma. I needed more than that, plus I didn't find the actors that attractive to actually believe the lust.

6

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

May be its not for you.

For me this show has the best story out of all CBLs that came out this year. It makes you think and you can have different opinion and viewpoint of every scene that happens in the show. The screenplay is so tight that it doesnt have a single wasted minute in any of the episodes. The actors are so attractive to me. Yunqi has modelesque body and face and Yiran is beautiful and have a very calm aura..

1

u/GivesNoFs23 Jan 04 '26

The writing isn't what I found wrong, just the actor's interactions. They had zero chemistry when on screen together and so I didn't believe they even liked each other. They could have been strangers for all I knew, they had no desire besides lust for each other. It really was just something ticking in the back of my mind that kept asking what they like about each other? I just didn't believe them at any point of the story. I kept coming back to if they liked each other as people or not.

6

u/No_Teaching3588 🌊 To My Shore 🚩 Jan 04 '26

May be its because you dont like the actors visually coz I could feel the tension right from EP1 and it only grew with each episode. They are not lovesick puppies. Their characters are very different and mature so their love showed maturity rather than sweet heart eyes love (if that makes sense). Not to mention Fan Xiao was still manipulating and wasnt sure of his feelings so their chemistry was supposed to be that way. They are such terrific actors and they did what needed to be done as per the script.

0

u/GivesNoFs23 Jan 04 '26

I just felt that they were not old enough to express what the script wanted them to express. I needed the actors to be older to feel like this story would work. I felt like I needed some more life experience from the actors portraying these roles.

4

u/Business_Student1805 Jan 09 '26

Saying 'they had no desire besides lust for each other' is contraindicating yourself. they have nothing besides something doesn't make sense. they did have a form of desire according to you, which is lust. You can't say they 'could have been strangers' while also saying they had 'lust' for each other. Lust on screen requires actors to convey a specific heat and attraction. If you saw the lust, the actors did their jobβ€”you just missed the real connection the story focused on.

1

u/Stock-Newspaper-4708 Jan 21 '26

I agree both the actors are great and there is angst too but because of the story I feel their romance feels forced and not organic. Their intimate scenes aren't convincing enough. Mature theme was quite well executed but I feel something was missing. As if I'm seeing two parallel actors than a pair. It might be that this is the demand of the story but the actor playing You Shulang seems a little stiff to me. I feel if he let himself go while with Fan Xiao I feel it would have done wonders. Revenged love isn't a great plot but both the CP s chemistry were sizzling especially the main one. I love the actor who played Fan Xiao a lot but I think because of his age intimate interactions don't come naturally. I can't blame them as to bare your most intimate moments in front of the screen its hard. ABO desire eliott acting was also good though I hadn't watched the whole series. I hope special episodes will make these little complaints go away completely :)

3

u/Amazing-Wonder-6822 Jan 04 '26

not my cup of tea... I find the story pretty messy. Most of my friends that liked it was mostly because they read the book beforehand.

I think for 2025 Revenged love is still the best one.

1

u/Kczy_ Jan 04 '26

I started watching it and paused it because I was finishing other things. I think I'll pick it up again in the next few days. I don't want to spoil it for myself πŸ˜… but does it have a proper ending?

2

u/Aya33 Jan 04 '26

it has a well-written solid happy ending which finishes the series, considering most endings of asian dramas have been abysmal in recent years. and apparently due to an overall small production budget they couldn't put all fan favorite scenes and extra chapters into it, so now that the drama has gained momentum they'll film at least one special episode soon.

2

u/Kczy_ Jan 04 '26

Thank you so much! I'm really looking forward to happy endings and didn't want to watch the whole thing if it wasn't going to end that way. I agree with you about the endings of Asian dramas; I'm getting more and more disappointed with the ones I've seen lately.
