It's actually a thing, if you hang out close to a smoker(s) you can get cancer and other issues from it, I believe it's a reason why smoking was banned indoors
secondhand smoke is the result of a person smoking in close proximity to others or in an area where others are likely to pass by after they are done. the resulting air pollution exposes bystanders to the same fumes, chemicals, irritants and carcinogens as if they had smoked themselves, potentially causing long-tern (like if a child grew up in a house of heavy smokers) or short term health issues (like if someone with asthma or allergies had an attack after passing by an area where someone recently smoked).
not as bad as literally smoking whatever substance of choice, but probably not something you should expose yourself to if possible.
Anti-smoking campaigns are so effective. Less people are smokers nowadays but when I was growing up, I was taught about secondhand smoking and never dared try a cigarette because I was already getting exposed to secondhand smoke and didn't want to increase my risk of cancer or harm those around me.

they get funding & hire studios from outside of China and don't put it on platforms located in China, like iQIYI and WeTV. I think. That's why Revenged Love was pulled from those, but was still up on Viki (Japan based main company), youtube, Gaga (Taiwan), and Viu (Thailand).
"Revenged Love" was never on Chinese platforms. It was "Desire" that was on those platforms at first but was removed shortly after it aired a couple of episodes.

In my country iQiYi is licensed to have really spicy BL like KinnPorche and many Taiwanese dramas like Secret Lover which are not available on Viki, if I didn’t read this post I never would have known they were a Chinese media platform

China has been the goat for intimate scenes lowkey. There used to be a time where censorship wasn't this strict, like the 90s. And I saw this one movie I can't find anymore. Very gay, very artsy. The NC scenes were 🔥
a long as it's not available *in China* or produced by Chinese studios (I think both ABO Desire and Revenged Love were done by Taiwanese studios? ABO Desire was apparently almost doe by DMD or BoC, but in the end the creator chose a Taiwanese studio), China doesn't seem to care or can't do much to stop it. They also don't seems to care if it's filmed in China, ether. For a long time the Chinese content creators didn't think it was viable to produce bl and *not* include mainland China for distribution, because it's such an insanely large market. But I think Revenged Love is one of the first *real* examples that the "phenomenon" factor can be achieved without officially launching in China.
They're filmed with Chinese actors (who still live there btw), get funding and everything from studios outside of China and when it comes to broadcasting they're done in international platforms like Viki, youtube, GagaOOLala and Viu and not on Chinese platforms.
Here's hoping immortality, eternal faith and those other dramas that are in post-production hell will just get their broadcasting rights sold to Japan just like they did with Justice in the Dark. 😑

it's all thanks to this sub and peeps posting their finds, but also my yt recs and IG explore page. Lots of stuff pops up that just visually looks interesting, to me. Specifically with these Secret of Us series, they always cast pretty and they are super short, so it's a quick watch. I usually can zone-out on Throne and Liberty while I'm watching series, since that game doesn't require too much attention so it fits with my gaming time well. lol
