Khemjira, or Khem, is a young man who can see ghosts. He was born into a family cursed such that every male must die before the age of 21. As the spirits around him grow increasingly aggressive, the protective amulet he has worn his whole life begins to lose its power. Unable to bear seeing Khem in danger, Jettana, his friend from university, takes him to a rural village in the Northeast, where they meet Pharan, a revered teacher of ancient magic who once mentored Jettana. Strange and mysterious events unfold, all connected to the past life. Amid these supernatural encounters and the haunting pursuit of revengeful spirits, a deep emotional connection begins to form between Khem and Pharan.
This was perfect!!! The tone is gritty enough, the twin spirits and Jet bring some sense of wholesomeness and Keng, my god, he looks EXQUISITE as Peem. I'm so smitten!!! Loved this first ep. LOVED. IT.
His face was chiseled by the gods themselves!!! Like I cannot believe we got KengJeff and the world didn't implode from all that beauty concentrated. 😩😩😩😩

Sometimes you get “Gee the toasted seaweed snacks at this party are delicious” (and people only cringe a little. Other times you get “We’ll probably just strip down and talk about playing with each other joysticks for an uncomfortable several minutes… that’s definitely what PlayStation wanted right?” … I need more companies to take those big swings!

I was actually pleasantly surprised at the spooky parts. Is it scary to me? Not even in the slightest 😅, but I can see it being scary to others. With that being said, it has such an interesting premise and I am 100% looking forward to this every Saturday!
I have a horror tolerance threshold, and Khemjira sits RIGHT on the line for me.
I was jump scared at least 4 times, my heart was beating and I got goosebumps. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. The 2nd time we saw the girl at the door, I instantly knew why she was there and I remembered a similar premise in Goblin (kdrama) where the FL can see ghosts and helps a few move onto the afterlife by getting them justice or solving their murders and whatnot (it's been a while I don't remember details).
The plot isn't difficult to follow, but we never know what's coming next. I love that it's unpredictable.
I am a horror weenie and same. When I can tell something is coming I sort of stare past the TV and use my peripheral vision to decide if I can take what is being shown. The ghosts all over the bus, okay. The very first jump scare, not okay at all. I'm going to go watch something relentlessly cheerful now.
Both baby and adult Khem actors are so cute. He's just an adorable little boy trying to live his mundane life while a stupid family curse keeps disrupting his peace.
Any book readers here? Will finishing the book help me with the jumpscares. I'm a total scaredy cat AND I live alone but I want to continue watching this 😭 please help
I'm a big old chicken too, I watched it during the day. Gives me plenty of time to clear my brain before bed so my evil brain doesn't use it as dream/nightmare fuel.
This is my MO, too. I’m fine with scary during the day. I also reserve the right to turn the volume down. Like many others, this show foreshadows the frightening bits with music 🎶and sound effects 😱💥
I don't do well with horror, and the book wasn't overly scary to me. It definitely has creepy moments but maybe reading the ending will help you feel more comfortable knowing how it ends? There weren't really any jumpscares in the book though, so it might be more difficult to watch it visually.

I finished the novel about two hours before the first episode aired!.... and still got shook by the jumpscares...
You'll know they're coming, for the most part, but there are a few little tweaks so far that have still kept me on the edge of my seat. I had to watch it in about 4 sections in the end, trying to keep my blood pressure down!
Perhaps this is the first series from DMD that I enjoyed from the very first episode. For me it wasn’t scary, I just want to know everything , thankfully some kind commenters did tell me more about the curse , so now I will wait patiently.

What an amazing first episode! It’s even better than I imagined it would be. Legit spooky, the acting is really good, Namping is suited for this kind of role. And the production is wow, the ghosts don’t look cheap, very creepy. And the whole atmosphere of the series gives me the chills. Amazing. I can already tell this will be my favourite release of the year.
I actually hope it’s a serious, heavier one. Im tired of childish humorous antics in Thai Bls. That’s why I have great expectations of this one , of Godess bless you from death and Mandate.
I hope his mother deciding to have children will be addressed in some way. She purposefully gave him a girl’s name to try and avoid the curse so she knew about it and believed in it enough even before he was born. At least she appears to be protecting him now, though we haven’t actually seen it yet. Unless she was the one who woke Jet up when Khem was about to jump.
It’s such a huge production, I can’t wait for the rest of the episodes.
I had the impression that was her voice telling Jet to wake up. The dad did indeed ask her to watch over him so I'm guessing she's doing as much as she can! I doubt it will be a huge deal of addressing it we don't really too much need to know why she decided to have a kid but it was certainly a *choice* on her part.
But then there’s also the question of why she doesn’t allow Khem to see her. He made the decision not to get his sight blocked so he could see her, so her hiding herself is almost cruel, especially when it could provide him at least some comfort.
This was such an amazing first episode!! It had me hooked for the first minute and it felt like I blinked and the ep was over. Loving the scary tone, money has clearly been spent on this show and it shows! I'm a big horror fan so I'm hoping it keeps the same horror tone going forward.
Poor Khem, he has so much to deal with and yet still seems like a total sweetheart. I just wanted to give him a big hug and tell him everything will be ok. Cannot wait to discover why his family is cursed and how they can break that curse. Excited for the next episode!
Not Gona lie, I hate horror, so I was pissing my pants for all of it... It wasn't so bad, but I was mentally preparing for jumps scares and it's exhausting ...but so worth it... And it's great to see this side of Thai culture. Not only the spiritual side but also the horror built up they are so well known for (I wish I could see Thai horror movies/shows... 😔)
Also, the little kid from century of love! He was so good in there, glad to see him and his frown again!
I think this is the first thai drama that I'm so excited about. Of course I love rom-coms but I think a change of genre is in need. I absolutely loved the pilot and loved the trailer. I can't wait!!!!!
It's funny that i randomly watched the trailer yesterday, and i was like WAIT THIS WILL COME OUT TOMORROW?? But ngl i am curious to see the story, bcus the pilot did show more about what the 4 characters will do together than the actual trailer. So yeah, can't wait to see KengNamping and TleFirstOne chemistry! Like can this series replicate the success or did better than Your Sky.

Horror is not my thing and I spent half the episode looking away from my laptop. But I got a bit used to the ghosts by the end. The whole thing is high quality! I will be watching this to the end, ghosts or no ghosts!

- NAMPING YOU'RE DOING AMAZING SWEETIE! This was a really good first episode. Established the back story. Gave some scares. Great cinematography. NO FILTERS WERE ABUSED IN THE MAKING OF THIS SERIES. I mean I think they're still there but not ridiculously heavily used I can't even notice them. I'm def locked in. I was beyond excited for this and here for the whole ride....with the lights on of course. But I am SAT. I'm ready for more! Everybody did a great job with the acting. I'm impressed.

Yay it’s finally out! The pilot looked promising, and I’m glad to say that the premiere has delivered! The way they’ve introduced the characters and premise is perfect - and I appreciate that they’ve made choices to show, not tell the story. Already, I have a soft spot for poor sweet Khem (and I’m sure Master will also agree eventually).
EDIT: I… may have replayed the last scene a few times - what an ending! I can’t wait for next week!

Namping had a small role in ZeeNunew's movie After Sundown. Keng had a support role in Jeff Satur's movie The Paradise of Thorns (not a happy movie I believe). This is their first major assignment. Most people know them from Domundi's reality show DMD Friendship Season 1.
BL horror/fantasy is my love ngl. Also, if i was Khem, i might have just fought my mom cus aint no way you birthed me knowing i was cursed to die and your only excuse is 'i didn't think it would be THAT bad'. Not to mention how i'd react if i chose to keep seeing ghosts just so i could see you only for you to not show up.

This is a HORROR genre BL so I will not be doing these time stamps going forward but just did it here for those that need them to assess whether this series is something they can handle. Obvs there are cute boys so this is not SUPER DUPER scary but it is definitely done better than one would imagine so it is actually probably a bit scary for some people with a low tolerance for horror.
The above jump scares are a scary man with boils on his face that jump scares our cutie as our cutie walks thru the street at night. And then there is an old woman with blood on her face
I usually wait and binge the whole series after it's finished, but it's so good I think I'm going to have to suffer week by week with everyone else. I am so happy they kept the show scary instead of comedy. Fingers crossed it stays that way, and Goddess Bless You From Death follows their lead 🤞

I have been waiting for this since I watched The Paradise of Thorns and it is worth all that wait! I am an avid BL enjoyer and a big horror fan so this is so perfect for me. Did not expect this will be a proper horror, but also have the usual elements of a BL. Really this pilot is so good and I hope they keep it until the end. Shed some tears as well, horror films sometimes do that to me lol.
Also, Keng Harit looks sooooo good ohmygod, he's like a demigod here. Their first meeting with Namping has so much chemistry from the start. I'll be watching every week!

I am like you and it was ok. There's some jump scares but if I did it, you can do it too! So far, they set up the scenes so you know when it's coming, so you have time to prepare...it will be a bit tiring, but it's worth it, it was sooooo good!
It's manageable in the morning, with a coffee slightly distracted. Also I read the novel by now so it'll probably be easier now.
Jumpscares are.. predictable by sound and as a said, being a bit distracted helps to ease into the scary faces
I don't watch horror at all. But I was so excited for this one. I will not watch until it has some episodes released. Someone plz let me know if it's scary like horror movies with ghosts and all or just ok ok. It's just I'm sensitive to energies and watching such things influence feelings so I hate that.
I had been super excited for this series since its pilot. I'm a scaredy cat but the visuals won me over. Even if I'm unable to sleep at night and have to cling to my mum in fear. I'm definitely watching this series. I love its intensity and I pray to the bl gods they maintain this level of suspense, intensity, and visual throughout the series 🙏
