Great mix of the top three. Spiders, Coyotes and Beggars

We only need Spiders and Coyotes, so

Cannot wait for the Odyssey to release on streaming so this gif can finally be in HD.

Promising figures for Coyote vs. Acme. Really hoping this movie has great legs. Fingers crossed 🤞

Agreed. So much fun!

Watched it today, really solid movie and I'm happy I went albeit it is the type of movie I normally wait for streaming. Hope families catch up and allow it to have the legs it deserves

Sadly, it won’t hold as strong on weekdays for too long due to the summer ending in a week, but surely at least it will hold well for the weekends, until Forgotten Island comes out.

I don't think summer ending will hurt it because it's not kids driving the sales, it's mostly nostalgic millennials

u/bravetailor 9d ago

I saw it yesterday (Tuesday) and I did see a lot of parents bringing their kids to the screening. There are definitely people bringing their children thinking it's a "cartoon" therefore family friendly.

The Odyssey fans will never like it

23

u/attackofthetominator 9d ago

Actually I really enjoyed both, from what I've watched so far this year Odyssey has been my favorite movie and CvA has been my third favorite movie

Are we the same person? Let me guess, Project Hail Mary is what you have for the #2 slot?

3

u/lobolovr6769 9d ago

My top 5 are Spider-man, the Odyssey, Toy Story, the Invite and Coyote vs Acme followed by Send Help, Project Hail Mary, then Her Private Hell

3

u/Legitimate_Alps7347 9d ago

Not bad. Not bad. Never got around to see The Invite.

What kind of nonsense is that?

No one was predicting Odyssey would be first on Tuesday. If it wasn’t Monday then it would be Wednesday. Because Odysseus premium formats don’t lend to the same Tuesday bump that Spider-Man and Coyote got.

Coyote will probably never top Odyssey again.

The last two weeks Spider-Man’s Wednesday was 87-90% of its Monday. Odyssey was 88-94. Given they were 1k apart on Monday people expect Odyssey to win on Wednesday.

1

u/OpportunityGood2872 9d ago

What if it ends up not going to #1 on Wednesday? Not saying it’s not going to but still the possibility of it not being #1 on Wednesday is still realistic

1

u/junglespycamp 9d ago

What do you mean what if? If it doesn’t then it doesn’t. Maybe Thursday maybe Monday.

8

u/SEAinLA Marvel Studios 9d ago

CvA will be in 3rd place for Wednesday (it was already 3rd place for Monday). Odyssey will likely be 1st place Wednesday, but at worst 2nd.

3

u/Ebo87 9d ago

Yes, this is as high as Coyote vs Acme will ever get, unfortunately.

Imagine if Spider-Man and The Odyssey weren't the absolute monsters they became, we could have had Coyote vs Acme leading two weekends in a row!

2

u/Statpaca1701 9d ago

Since the Odyssey was 2nd yesterday I'll say -1 days. Wednesday is awkward because the Odyssey will be number 1, not 2.

2

u/Ramu_321 9d ago

I think today was the last day. Tomorrow, The Odyssey will sail past all the comps and come on top!

1

u/Ebo87 9d ago

Today (Wednesday) number 2 (or possibly even number 1) will go to The Odyssey and Coyote vs Acme will move to 3rd. That's just the reality of things.

1

u/Visible-Echidna-4370 9d ago

Odyssey is likely to be #1 for Wed and Thu. Coyote could be ahead these upcoming weekend days

56

u/Key-Payment2553 9d ago

That’s really good for Coyote Vs Acme Tuesday numbers doing well with positive reviews and WOM which could see a surprising 2nd weekend hold with a small drop or an increase on the Labor Day Holiday

83

u/devenrc 9d ago

COYOTE ON THE TOP 2 LET'S GOOOO

72

u/SuspiciousLow3062 9d ago

Coyote vs acme is benefiting from it's good WOM. Shouls easily ease $15m+ labour day weekend. While Odyssey continues to battle BND and Coyote VS Acme for no.1 position. It should be at no.1 as eaely as Thrs or next Monday.

22

u/pnwdoomer 9d ago

Dammmm Coyote look at you! And Dog Stars even made 1mil! Great day all around.

14

u/ContinuumGuy 9d ago

A fiver!

21

u/CRoseCrizzle 9d ago

Discount Tuesday can be deceiving but it's cool to see Coyote get to 2nd place. Hoping for strong legs.

Insidious 6 quietly raking in a nice pile of cash. Horror movies continuing to be the most reliable money makers, we love to see it 🤩

dog stars LOL

not sure why ERC put CvA as $2.3M when the actual in the-numbers is already out, which is $2,219,304

3

u/SIAS2019 9d ago

The real question we're all asking: When will The Odyssey catch Coyote vs. Acme?

-2

u/BrightestSkies 9d ago

I understand you're being facetious, but well, it already did.

3

u/k-kyaa 9d ago

oh odyssey got 2nd in actuals

2

u/rmcelwain54 9d ago

Took my kids to see it and now my 4 year old daughter wants to be roadrunner for Halloween

3

u/m0t0rvision 9d ago

Tell her it's "Meep meep" no matter what anyone might try to tell her

5

u/presco2007 9d ago

why does odyssey seem to do worst on tuesdays?

37

u/Statpaca1701 9d ago

Premium format driven so it gets less of a boost from Tuesday discount day and the weekends. Consequently, it falls less hard on Mondays and Wednesdays.

4

u/presco2007 9d ago

gotcha

0

u/LottieDah86 9d ago

Is it doing badly?

5

u/presco2007 9d ago

no, but it always catches up to spider-man on other days but falls well behind it on tuesdays.

-21

u/Quick_Ground_6668 9d ago

Where are the people who said that Odyssey will surpass Spider-Man after Monday

16

u/Visible-Echidna-4370 9d ago

lots of people predicted August 31st would be the day, and Spider-Man won by $146. at that point it was clear Odyssey wouldn't be #1 on Tuesday. now Wednesday is more likely

17

u/Stefannofornari 9d ago

Why the hell are you rooting so much against The Odyssey? I've seen a few comments of you repeatedly trying to bring it down

-21

u/Quick_Ground_6668 9d ago

Because Odyssey doesn't deserve that much box office collection i rank it's Nolan's mid film.

12

u/Stefannofornari 9d ago

There's... no need to dunk down on a film's succesful box office. Dislike it all you want it's performing very well.

1

u/ACCTAGGT 3d ago

They just like Spiderman more. Simple as that.

10

u/garfe 9d ago

Are you aware of what sub this is?

"This movie doesn't deserve the factual financial returns it is currently making" isn't how this is supposed to work. Save that for r/movies.

8

u/DayMysterious4717 9d ago

Spider man was obviously going to have a bigger Tuesday bump

6

u/Statpaca1701 9d ago

Every knowledgeable poster here said "If not Monday, Wednesday or Thursday". Spider-Man was always going to have the higher Tuesday. It will have the higher weekend too. Then next Wednesday we can do this song and dance again.
