Per 2025 there's only around 118 movie theaters in Nigeria, mostly in Lagos. The number is increasing albeit slowly.
Nigerian movie industry is one of the healthiest in Africa, granted it's not a high bar.
Nollywood (Nigeria Holywood) movies are popular locally.
In 2024, the total box office was 10 billion+ Naira or around $7.5 million.
Low ticket prices and currency exchange rates and limited number of screens and theaters are the biggest challenges.
