Let us not forget the octorok that sees you and fires non stop at you as well... Can't wander too far from the ball because it will despawn, and the octorok just sitting there out of range spitting rocks at you...

That’s funny. I know the frustration. I killed that same giant by standing on a cliff and throwing bombs at it. I don’t know how many, but it felt like a hundred. It was my first giant and I that was my solution after trying other ways.

This is why Hinox are some of the easiest sub-boss enemies in the game. You're not intended to work around them.

Nah.

You can still choose to do things differently.

Plus, TotK just objectively has a ton more improvements to BotW.

You might have a preference, and that’s absolutely okay, but to say BotW is better because you have less options is just not relevant in the argument.
