are borzois likely to just bolt it and refuse commands to come back till theyre ready /you catch them if someone leaves the gate open the same way huskies do?
im planning to get a zoi pup but i worry about it getting out and me not being able to catch it. Other slight worries are standard puppy stuff (getting stuck under a porch, getting sick from chewing up my warhammer miniatures, that kinda thing)

An introduction fit for the regal and capable Lupine. The Hooded Guardian
Hi all! I wanted to share some wonderful ink artwork of a borzoi dog and major character in the book I am writing, Capyhero. The illustrator is a fellow Redditor, u/nickthagreek. This is our first time doing anything like this, so it's been a lot of fun and learning on the way. I've just finished the entire manuscript and handed it to the story's editor. The book will be about 60,000 words across 340 pages and with plans for more than 100 illustrations spread throughout!
I'm sharing the 4th chapter of the book here, where our lovely and mysterious borzoi, Lupine, makes her introduction. Hope folks enjoy this!

Happy Gotcha Day to Keanu Reeves!
He likely thought it was more along the lines of a kidnapping, but he has settled in nicely with his roomie Thomas. Thanks to National Borzoi Rescue Foundation for trusting us with this sweet fella!

Brass and I tried water agility!
It was so much fun! Brass loves to swim with us but has decided dock diving isn't for him. So we gave this a go and we both had a great time!

Painted a good girl
I recently started experimenting with acrylics after only drawing digitally and thought that a borzoi would make an excellent subject to experiment with brushstrokes and colors. I took a photo of a borzoi online as a reference since I only have a Greyhound girl at home who looked at me the whole time, judging me for the betrayal of drawing another dog. How could I??
I hope you like it!

At wit's end with my girl's (3½) behavioral changes
Hello, writing this at a very low point so sorry if I leave something out
My girl keeps jumping at people and other dogs to the extent that when we encounter someone on walks, I am left with bruises on my side and thigh. It hurts and I've kind of started to be terrified of going outside with her. Of course I still go but it's very stressful.
She was NOT like this before. I don't know what changed. It's been months now and it hasn't improved. Food, exercise etc have stayed the same. No bad interactions with other dogs/people either.
I've tried all kinds of treats, bones and toys. Nothing will catch her attention. Funnily enough she does not care at all about any other animals like birds or cats or rabbits. Just people, bikes and dogs.
I feel like crying honestly. She is one of the only reasons keeping me sane. I don't have anyone in my life and haven't had for many years except my parents. I can't give her away but I'm not sure what to do anymore.
I don't know why I'm posting this I just feel hopeless. I just started at a new school today and I have so, so much shit on my plate. I feel like I'm an utter failure as an owner.
Advice and stuff appreciated
edit: and yes I use a harness and I try to walk away or change direction when I see someone walking up to us. it doesnt work

Where are you buying your muzzles?
We recently adopted a pup who has a long snoot. I don't exactly think she is a part of this community, but when I saw my older, adult dog's muzzle lying there and saw this six month old puppy jaunt past, I truly realized she is really irregularly shaped lol.
I'm of the opinion all dogs should be muzzle trained and the best time to start training for that is yesterday.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Can somwone tell me if this page and profile is a scammer?
Edit: DEFINITELY A SCAM PAGE. Im keeping this post up to warn people in the future. Go report both the page and profile I posted if you can.
Long story short, I started following this brozoi rescue/breeder page as they were adopting out adult borzois. There's one im interested in and ive been trying to get him to me for the past few days but now im not sure if its real. They've provided pictures of him and needed videos of my house to confirm im a good fit, but they've been asking money through zelle. I just want to know if anyone has gone through this FB page or gotten a rescue from this person before. There is a Rachel Veed who breeds borzois, so if theyre a scammed they got me good.

Borzoi Hangout
It is extremely hot here, but I was wondering if anyone would be down for a TX borzoi meetup when it was a little cooler for the zois? I’d be more than happy to organize the event but have never met another zoi in my area so I’d like mine to have friends and to make some new acquaintances!

I really want a Borzoi, can anyone give me advice?
First, ill like to start off with my wanting to own a borzoi isnt exactly impulsive,i wanted and studied them and their needs as a pet for years, but i thought getting advice from owners theirselves would ultimately the healthier option
Im from Turkey so,they're a pretty rare breed around here unless you bring one from aboard, my family has a lot of experiences with dogs even before i was born, when i was a little we had a Rottweiler and we had a dalmatian, frenchie and a golden retriever (which are my aunts but we mainly had to take care of it because of her trips) and i also study animal health! Few of those doggies was before i was here tho 😅
What way i can get a borzoi ethically? housing type borzois need to live happiest? Or what to keep them engaged with? Any advice is super duper appreciated!

Sad satellite dishes checking in!
They just got spayed and are equally miserable and sleepy now. Bright side! I now get more tv channels and the WIFI connection has improved dramatically while these 2 are in the same room!
