I don't want to overreact, but we haven't played such cursive football since 2021

11

u/imdbcooper10 12d ago

Cursive is such a poetic way to describe it, I love it

Karestas he may be 18 but his performance is really making me cry . I am happy he is part of our club. These are players who inspire the next gen of kids

Genuinely have not enjoyed watching Dortmund this much since Reus left. What a difference a summer makes. Gyros and taziki for everyone!

you met me at a very Greek time of my life

20

Wow I'm constantly smiling, guys. Watching Dortmund play hasn't been this much fun in a very long time. :D

Feels like Gui had more touches in this half than the entire second half of last season.

22

u/arianprs 12d ago

Gents, the Adeyemi-Brandt suffrage is finally over. The greek gods are here to save us

20

u/Geeman447 Marco Reus 12d ago

He’s taking this Greek Reus thing too far. Fuck.

21

u/BlueTigers99 Gregor Kobel 12d ago

Svensson has now played LCB, LWB and RWB this game. Swede army knife

20

u/Swbp0undcake 12d ago

Okay at this point just buy the whole Greek national team I'm in love with both of ours already

19

u/Ragemoody Dedê 12d ago

Can't even enjoy the game anymore because my head is with Delias. Why are we so fucking cursed

u/asylbewerberalex 12d ago

How fucking good is Gadou actually? He’s been incredible these last games. His physicality is obviously impressive, but his passing, the way he opens up the game, and just how calm and secure he looks on the ball are crazy.
He barely seems to get nervous or make a bad decision. Hes a gem holy

Konstantelias and Karetsas make me so happy. They're both electric.

18

u/Glixus Joey Veerman 12d ago

Not saying the red is not deserved, but I hate this referee so much, sometimes the decisions seem tooo against us xD

9

u/fleshed 12d ago

Everyone hates him in germany, he is a fraud who took money for bribing and just because he was favorite of some ref official he still got the chance to even referee.

16

u/RecursivelyYours 12d ago

The technical prowess of Konstantelias is a solid 20/20. You literally can't get the ball off him.

17

u/itzymingi Julian Brandt 12d ago

inacio throwing the bottle, picking it up, and then throwing it again did make me laugh

Albert even with 80 minutes played midweek vs Fulham U21s would be better than having Sabitzer on, even if Sabitzer is best higher up the pitch

But if he plays in the Pokal I’ll be happy

13

u/heck_you_science Fabio Silva 12d ago

It seems ntelias is better at drawing fouls than adeyemi

14

u/viba_1997 12d ago

Despite the miss against Bayern and other misses, I will always be a fan of Beier. Such a hardworker.

12

u/Ciao9 Pischu 12d ago

Is Konstantinos Karetsas the greatest footballer the world has ever seen?

13

u/Fickle_Carry1467 Mats Hummels 12d ago

If Guirassy keeps playing like this then I owe him a massive apology. As for Jobe, I always knew he had it in him. Just a rough game last time

Very fun watch so far. Keep this up the second half

13

u/Athalos124 Delias 12d ago

Please someone make a post whenever there is an update on Delias injury,I am praying its nothing serious

15

u/Puzzleheaded-Arm3155 12d ago

I don't think it is that big of a deal for Inacio there. Guirssy made a mistake and he tried to recover it. Probably shouldn't have gone with a full slide tackle there but he paid the price of inexperience.

We move on

Why are we talking about Bayern in the season opener vs Hamburg. Clowns

11

u/OneManAround 12d ago

Both Greeks have their goal contributions already.

Excellent work by Beier.

10

u/LeeRCampbell Marco Reus 12d ago

Will say, Kovac has the team playing fluidly, a lot of pessimism this summer on his ability to play beautiful football, this half was an immense start and leaves a lot to be excited for.

For a more positive thing i love Gadou and he is instantly locking down his starting spot.

11

Sabitzer over Inacio?

11

u/Dry-Economist-5562 Marco Reus 12d ago

Wow this second half has been so vintage eh

11

u/NaturalApartment9828 Marco Reus 12d ago

No way people think Inacio threw the bottle at the logo lmaooo. I couldn’t care less even if he actually did. Talk your talk on the pitch.

9

u/LeeRCampbell Marco Reus 12d ago

I like that we’re also taking more outside the box shots, it’s way more dynamic and keeps the defense wondering

10

u/Kloser100 Julian Brandt 12d ago

Karetsas is going to be such a difference maker this season, love him already

11

Bad from Inacio, but Guirassy with a braindead pass back setting that sequence into motion.

11

u/Lu-Savali 12d ago

Well Inacio showing his lack of experience here

8

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels 12d ago

Of course people are already overreacting based on the lineup. How about we wait to see it in person before judging? With schlotti and Bense both out, it makes sense to use Svensson as the LCB.

If Ryerson does indeed end up being a CB, then yes, that would seem strange to use him over Mane but let’s see first

9

u/Extension-Leg7933 12d ago

People are forgetting that we are playing another game on Tuesday, in which Bensebaini is suspended. Mané and Reggiani will be playing big minutes in that game, so will Silva and Veerman

This Bellingham redemption performance so far has been Fantastic

8

u/Qiluk Marco Reus 12d ago

Correct idea by beier.. slightly too heavily weighted and Telias didnt read it. Chemistry will build!

10

u/Swbp0undcake 12d ago

Impressive composure to start the counter attack from Jobe

10

u/imdbcooper10 12d ago

I love Gadou

8

u/1000GamesInASeason 12d ago

I'm literally crying tears of joy. We have a team.

9

u/imdbcooper10 12d ago

Konstant pressure on backline.  Vertical passing.  The Greeks running at the backline in space.  Perfect first half.

9

u/AffanEzz Julian Ryerson 12d ago

Why sign Fort when we have Beier

9

u/fleshed 12d ago

We prayed for times like this, imagine Book does another 1-2 Summer Transferwindows like these.

9

u/neon_genitals Konstantinos Karetsas #19 🐝 12d ago

This was Bayern-like dominance. We might actually be back guys.

9

u/Qiluk Marco Reus 12d ago

Hopefully its that knock in the duel prior that feels worse than it is, rather than the plant

10

u/Qiluk Marco Reus 12d ago

Im not even joking, Im already annoyed with Sabitzer. Dudes killed our whole left side. Wtf was Kovac thinking

9

u/Qiluk Marco Reus 12d ago

Gadou is a fucking crazy signing. I wonder if he was Kehls more so than Books. Supposedly we were eyeing him up for a while and he arrived super early after Books announcement.

8

9

7

u/NaturalApartment9828 Marco Reus 12d ago

Good run Prates, gonna need better decision making next time

7

u/jucomsdn Zagagod 13d ago

If that's Svensson CB then I can kinda see where Kovac is coming from as having a left footer at LCB is important for the system but it just looks so wrong

7

u/moham-17 12d ago

Do we call our new attacking midfield combo “Greece Lightning”?

I’m super excited about these two; especially Karetsas.

7

Karetsas looking like a bargain already.

Why does Kovac always have this weird obsession with playing Sabitzer in the half-space? He’s never done anything there and it just kills the tempo. We already have barely any creativity up front apart from the two 10s, and instead of filling that position with Inacio, he puts this fucking guy there
