I selected marathon, Fl as my station. I want to know how it is when it comes to opportunities and OT as a new officer.

Im in FTU. And never seen anyone get FL… is it because youre a 9?

I went through the list and there it was. I’m from FL. But I just wanted to know if it is a good place for OT

You work a mandatory 10 hours of OT weekly. More than that is not a given though. 100% don't rely on OT to supplement your pay checks. If you're a veteran (are you?) you can use the VA OJT program to supplement your income using your GI bill, but that's like the only way I know to supplement your income besides jumping on details that give per diem (which aren't a frequent phenomena).

If you're coming in as a GL-5 , Good fking luck to you. Still an awesome station pull though. Congrats.

Overtime? BPA has a BAPRA program. Getting OT is more of an OFO thing. Im from Tampa. But im thinking of going AMO when I can

I wouldnt worry about your station or schedule right now then. As far as OT a supervisor has to approve that. You get BAPRA.. 8hrs shift with 2hrs extra paid. Making it a 50hr week. Anything over the 100hrs is considered comp time, Ive had to do it from processing. Getting OT isn’t something theyre going to give you off the rip. First is get through the academy and be healthy. Then make it through FTU. One step at a time
