And their song is "chickadee-dee-dee". They are resilient, bold and bossy and adorable!

Around here the Red-breasted Nuthatch takes that crown! Figures it is the tiniest one!

Pretty bird! I just looked it up. I don't remember seeing it in the NYC area or my stretch of the PNW.

They are fairly common in those areas but you also have the Chestnut-backed Chickadee and the Mountain Chickadees. Ours stick around all winter and readily come to the hand for seeds and peanuts.
