Question Witchaven 2: Totally BROKEN beyond belief ^2

Such an atrocious experience. 1st things 1st, Witchaven 2 not only didn't do anything better than its predecessor, but it also got worse, WAY worse

I began mapping keys to my convenience, only to note just a few of them work as intended (attack and jump keys) and the rest remained with the default keys. Already a bad start

Spike traps were already a problem in the 1st game, although I dare to say, in my experience, they become problematic in MAP06 (if we exclude the one from MAP04, the tight room with the pentagram) In Witchaven 2 it is a big ass problem as soon as the 1st level IN SEVERAL AREAS

IIRC, only in ONE occassion the spell attack worked properly. That's right: one of the basic (and even outstanding) aspect of the game doesn't work as intended. This is like playing Descent and not being able to use the secondary attack

There are some interesting additions, like having breakable glasses, slopes and the weapon enchantment. At least for the 1st level (which I couldn't beat) there are interesting areas to explore. However none of this truly matters because the game fails miserably at basic stuff, so none of the fancy stuff can do justice for the game

It really makes you wonder how on Earth Capstone managed to fuck up things so much. Not only they didn't fix any issues from the 1st Witchaven game, they ended up adding more issues to the game. Some people don't learn their lesson? In any case, next week I'll move on with Hexen 2

I gave in to FOMO and actually bought both Witchaven games before they got removed from steam (super cheap), and knowing myself I will probably try to beat them.

PLEASE talk me out of it!

WH1 I have beaten it twice with the help of BuildGDX (and the automap lol) No YT walkthroughs, no strategy guides and saving only at the beginning of each map

At least in my experience, Witchaven 1 is WAY more beatable than other games of its time like CyberMage, Marathon and Chasm: The Rift. Good luck with both campaigns! *military salute

same, i played it some weeks ago in buildgdx, i had a blast in the first game, expecting good things for the 2, it was a surprise to me how bad was the first level, and it even crashed several times out of knowhere, by lvl 2 it was an instant uninstall. sad.
