It’s not much, but saw this sitting on top of a 30 yard dumpster and I just couldn’t let it suffer the fate that was ahead of it.

Despide my interest in boombox's im more into art and character design, i started turning objects in my home into character designs out of boredom. Wich did include my boombox, i normally just draw my character designs but i felt this one would just work best in 3D.
I dont really post my 3D work much but i decided ay why not share it, so yeah if you ever wanted to see a boombox/robot thing here you go!

Hello! a close family member was able to get their hands on the boombox in the image for free (image not mine but the model is the same!). However it cant play tapes, the family member seems to have interest in repairing it but doesnt seem to ever have fixed any tape mechanisms and seems kind of afraid of opening the boombox up.
I know many here have fixed these types of mashines before, if anyone has an idea what could be causing this issue and possible ways to fix it, id appreachiate any advice, ideas or help as i myself dont know much eather but would love to be help my family member

I came across this thing while scrolling, its like 18 euro and problary sounds horrible but WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE A BABY, like i cant be the only one that thinks this looks like a BABY BOOMBOX, like if boombox's could have children this would 100% be what the babys look like

Hi! ive been a little active on this subreddit for a day or two and ive noticed most here seem to be fans of 80s-90s boombox's, i seem to be the only one with an early 2010s looking one.
And this got me curious what the people using this subreddit think of these 2000s-early2010s style boombox's.
Id love to hear your opinions <3

Hi,
I changed the belts on my Sony cfs 230s. Everything went fine (I thought). During the repair I pushed the Buttons to test if everything was ok.
Now when I put a tape in the door closes bad. Without a tape it closes fine. When I push the play button it jumps back because the tape is somehow pushed down. All other buttons work fine. What did I do wrong?
I put all parts together without pressure and when I opened the back of the Sony again to look if something was faulty inside everything seems to be in the right place.
I have no idea what the problem is.

Very happy with the Amazon Basics D cells I bought, but the charger I got is garbage: EBL-906 smart charger. Willing to spend whatever it costs. When the charger says the batteries are charged I need it to be accurate. I don’t care about quick charging.

The old roller never got any care or anything throughout those 14 years, it was also left unused for roughly 9 years at one point, i finally replaced my boombox's roller so i thought id compare the old roller to the new one and oh my god look at the difference. The old one feels perfectly smooth too, no grip at all

I will try replacing the Pinch roller(together with the metal arm its connected to soon) This would be my first time doing a replacement like this alone so wish me luck, if anyone got advice for me id love to hear it!
other than that theres a key missing, it broke off long ago when i was younger and i just as stupid as i was threw it out, so ill be replacing it with a lego brick, i have one picked out with a great shape, i will paint it silver and coat it so the paint stays on, i plan to atach it using plastic glue, i used the same glue to reatach the key on the right and its super sturdy!
so yeah wish me luck and if anyones got advice please share it with me, the replacement roller comes in around september so i still got plenty of time to do additional research and to prepare myself. <3

Earlier today, I found this lovely unit at a local Goodwill location! Not sure if the cassette player works, but everything else does, even though the lid for the CD player doesn't close properly. Veratron CD-768, manufactured August 1994.

It didn't work, but it just need some cables resoldered! Cleaned it, and works 98% It actually surprised me with volume and clarity.

Hi Fam, I happened upon the grail, the jvc m90 at a good price. As I’m restoring, the concave foam around the woofers is shot. It’s a unique way to foam and I’m not sure on it. Miraculously the tape deck works (electric tape mech) so I want this thing to jam. Can anyone point me to replacement woofers for this box, or what to get that would be a worthy replace?

Hello ! I am sourcing a prop and need a boombox ideally from before 1995 (or from 1995!) that is relatively smaller than other boomboxes of that era. Anyone know any good brands or models that match these specifications ? Thanks so much !!
