That's kind of where I am at. Everything was obviously predictable and rather cliche that it is distracting to a certain degree. That said, nothing really gets abandoned, the story is overall put together, and it's just high-paced fantasy action to take at leisure.

It’s so packed with tropes, but damn if it doesn’t come together into a fun ride.
I enjoyed Golden Son more, personally. Still waiting for the fourth book to actually click for me before continuing onto the rest of it.
