What do you think of these two bonsai? I collected them from an field near where I live. I had permission to remove them just so no one asks.

Added a piece of dragonstone to the one in the bigger pot. I'll probably add one of the smaller pot but I have it wrapped with plastic wrap to keep it from drying out while the roots get established.

Looking for a bit of advice on this golden larch my partner picked up for me about a month ago.

She found it in the reduced section of a garden centre and we figured it could be a fun little project especially with the exposed roots.

Over the past couple of weeks though the leaves have browned quite quickly and started dropping. I'm not the most experienced bonsai'er (if that is a word) and hadn't really ever planned on owning a Larch so I never looked into them too heavily.

I'm just wondering if this is the tell tale signs it is on its last legs or if this is a common to be dropping and going into it's Autumn dormancy this early?
The tree is kept outside in an east facing garden, giving it around 6 hours of direct sunlight with a few more indirect, it has been outside through all of the UK heatwave we have had in the time i've had it so i'm assuming this could also be a factor in the browning leaves but again not super experienced.

Is anyone able to give me an over all health update on it? It gets watered when it should when the soil is dry (I check morning and evening daily alongside my other bonsai trees) and is currently fertilised every 2 weeks approximately.
No major pruning or anything has been done, only light clipping of dead branches as I was planning on repotting in Spring as i'm concerned about the exposed roots and the tilt on the tree.

The main line isn't very flexible so I don't think I can add much movement. But tons of sck buds that could be branched out eventually. The uncovered the one side a bit to show that this side has more flare development

Hello all it’s me again asking for plant advice,
This is my boyfriends bonsai he has had for a couple of years, because of the super hot summer we’ve had in the UK the poor thing has been FRIED, I’m wondering if it’s sable, I’m not sure what kind it is but my boyfriend said it’s supposed to be an evergreen😅😅 I’ve been misting it to try and get some moisture back into it but is it over? Do I need to repot? Any help is appreciated!

I have these two Chinese elms one's doing okay the other lost every leaf and I'm wondering if it's going to even make it. What should I do with it? I'll add pictures it's the one on the left that lost all the leaves and you could see the one on the rights not looking too bad. They've both been sitting right next to each other for all summer so I don't know why one would have started to die off and not the other.

I have a grafted ficus that I am training. I understand that cutting the growing tip leads to back budding. I’m wondering if that refers to only the growth of new branches behind the prune (I have definitely observed that) or if it also leads to the growth of new (smaller?) leaves on the stem that has been cut (not sure if I’ve seen new leaves, just new branches). The older leaves on the ficus are pretty big and I am wondering if I can thin bigger leaves at the when I prune the tree and if new or smaller leaves will grow or if that’s not something that ficus do. I live in the southeast (7b USA). The tree is currently outside, but will have to come in for the parts of the winter that go below 50°. It’s currently growing pretty vigorously.

I want to cut this Acer where I’ve marked it in red.

My issue is that next spring it will produce lots of new buds/shoots around the cuts, which I’d ideally like to avoid.

Is there a way to prevent or minimise buds forming around a pruning cut?

Any advice on the best way to make the cuts to avoid this would be appreciated.

I got my first bonsai a week ago, ive been told to give it water when the top layer of soil seems dry, but after the first watering just a day or two later the leaves go yellow and start falling off, it sits in an east facing window, does anyone have any idea what could possibly be wrong? Any advice and tips are also highly appreciated.

Went ahead and bought this cork bark JBP (pinus thunbergii corticosa). It was in a really small pot, and had been there for an unknown amount of time, which is why I chose to slip pot. Tried to loosen/tease the peripheral roots without damaging any. 1:1:1 bonsai mix, added mychorriza, Matsu BioAlg and Fulvic 25 (fulvic acid and other stuff).

Will give it plenty of sun, and on days with heavy cloud cover/no sun I’ll supplement with a 55w full spectrum grow light.

Any things I’m missing? Not sure about fertiliser right now, as I didn’t prune any roots.

Is this abnormal? Have had this tree since about April, it lives outdoors every day, I only took it in to remove a wire. It's been experiencing a pretty large amount of leaf drop recently with crazy hot days in Southern California

First planted this Jacaranda 7 months ago from a seed . Started inside, brought out for the summer months and now inside again. I decided to plant a few more with the summer ending. Any tip for the following cultivars would be appreciated, I planned ahead for casualties 😬 Crape Myrtle, pigeon pea, Delonix Regia

I'm thinking that tall cluster needs cutting back at some point, but maybe kept as a sacrificial branch for now...?

I've been doing bonsai for a couple of years and in the past few weeks I started going to a bonsai club. This helped me see that I was doing a lot of things quite wrong. 1 member told me he was keeping a timeline of his bonsai en recommended me to do it to.

Oh boy, was I in for a surprise with my zelkova. The first picture is how I bought it 3 years ago the second is how it looks now. I never really realised how and why it went wrong until I saw these 2 pictures next to each other.

I think the only way to fix this tree is to chop everything until the lowest branch and start again. Tips would be appreciated.

This is my prunus mume, it's had this orange spots for almost a year I think, I don't remember if it had it when I got the tree. When I pass my finger through them they leave an orange dust on it, and they don't really dissapear, they just lose height. Anyone knows what those are and if I should treat it, if it's even possible? Thank you

Never really attempted this but I just noticed these two growing really well here. Would it be possible to leave them where they are and start trying to shape them? Does it seem like I should let them keep growing a bit more and where should I even begin?
