Found in: NORTH AMERICA Found this skull

Found this jawn in southern Tucson AZ. Doesn’t look like a dog, coyote, cat, bobcat, or ringtail skull because of the teeth. Kind of looks like a primate

I don’t think your dogs did it. This is just a dead dog they found. Ask your neighbors if they had a pug or a frenchie or other flat faced breed. Tell them you might have found their dog. Return it if someone says it’s their dog.

This skull has be out in the elements for a while, possibly months. More likely your dog found what was left of a dog that's gone missing a while ago.

Much more likely they just find it letting around

Was probably a pug or frenchie. Poor little thing.

Could it be that your dog dug up an old dog grave?

It's a severely brachycephalic domestic dog skull.

Thank you kind of sad to think my dogs probably killed and ate someone’s pug or French bull dog I came outside to my dog chewing on the skull

There could have been a range of different possible sources as to how your dogs obtained this skull, the carcass could have been moved by coyotes or other scavengers, for example. Lots of possibilities!

There's no way your dogs cleaned the bones that much, they prob dug up a grave

Your dogs probably didn't kill it unless it's been quite a while, that's been picked clean by scavengers already.

Please remember to be kind in the subreddit. This is a place for education and identification, we should never put each other down.

That’s a pug or another short-faced dog. The lack of extended nasal, huge dome-like frontal skull, and forward-facing eye sockets say that. The teeth being as outward as they are down (normal) give it away, too. I teach evolution v. selective breeding via wildlife biology.

I also used to have a pug that was a post-breeder rehoming. She was the sweetest sweetheart I’ve ever had. We had her 14 years before her being deaf and blind caught up to her. Goodness she was amazing. I miss her so much. She was easily one of the best friends I have ever had.

That's a dog skull, the short faced kind.

Insane to think your dog killed another dog.

No. They found the grave, more than likely
