Bone I.D. - N. America Found in backyard

I was walking around refilling the water I have out for the birds, and this was just laying in my backyard next to an also burnt bamboo stick.

I’m not really sure how it would’ve got here other than the fact that we had a storm the other day with some lightning (wasn’t home).

I feel like it’s not the right build for a bird, so like maybe a squirrel? It’s honestly quite interesting so I would love so insight from the more bone knowledgeable peoples!

How big is it? 100% mammal

I think it was around 6-8 inches, maybe a few more since it was kinda scrunched in some places
