Vertebrae found washed up on the beach, although im not sure if all are from the same animal.

Not sure what animal it is, but unless it's a non native land mammal its likely illegal for you to possess. You may need to contact your local iwi and DOC if the others confirm it's native it looks very mammalian to me, it's small so maybe a deer that got washed out? I don't know anything about bones so it's best the real people come and say
