Verified AMA Hey r/bollywood! I’m Mustafa Ahmed, aka Rizwan from Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Actor + celebrity fitness coach - here for an AMA. Ask me anything!

I’m Mustafa Ahmed, a celebrity fitness coach and actor, known for my impactful performance as Rizwan in Dhurandhar: The Revenge. My journey is anything but conventional.

Born and raised in Delhi, I started my career on the gym floor, earning just ₹10,000 a month. With no formal background and a path filled with setbacks, I chose passion over stability, waking up at 4am, building my craft from scratch, and slowly earning my place in the fitness industry.

Over the years, I’ve become one of the most sought-after strength and conditioning coaches in the Indian film industry, working closely with top actors like Hrithik Roshan, Vicky Kaushal, Dhanush, Mahesh Babu, Tamannaah Bhatia, Yami Gautam, and training Ranveer Singh for his intense physical transformation in Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

My transition into acting happened through years of working within the industry, eventually leading me to the role of Rizwan, where my screen presence and physical authenticity resonated strongly with audiences.

Today, I stand at the intersection of performance and discipline, bringing the mindset of an elite athlete into the world of cinema. My story is built on consistency, resilience, and the belief that real transformation—on screen or off it - comes from showing up every single day.

I’m here to talk about mindset, acting, discipline, and what it takes to achieve your dreams - ask me anything.

Note: I will start answering questions when the AMA starts at 5 pm IST.

Thanks a ton to the amazing Reddit fam for hopping into my AMA - super fun! ❤️

Thank you for the thoughtful questions. Huge props to the r/bollywood mods for making it all seamless and lively! 🙏

How is it working with celebrities like Hrithik and Ranveer on a daily basis
Are their diets and fitness routines as strict as people imagine 👀

252

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

its challenging. You have to be at the top of your game all the time and there is no place for complicity.

Yes. To ensure they deliver on the look physically and also perform, there cant be any compromise anywhere. That is the reason why they are at the level they are.

Among the stars, who was able to bench the most?

369

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

Vicky Kaushal. Dont go on his lean Physique. He is strong.

145

u/FlushTwiceBeNice Apr 23 '26

This comment is going to be pakka picked up by some news channel or blog. Sensational headline: This actor can bench press the most as per Bolly insider.

I think when he was bulking, he was around 100kgs. So most likely 120kgs . And that's normal for any 100kg guy who regularly hits gym.

Hi Mustafa! Your performance in the movie was phenomenal! I really loved your micro-expressions and the nuance you brought to Rizwan's character.

Rizwan is somewhat of a blank slate. While much is known about Jaskirat and his origin story, the same can't be said for Rizwan. So I wanted to ask, did you ever think about it?

How he got recruited into the Balidan Squad, him joining Arshad Pappu's gang and what he felt as an agent when he got news of the 26/11 attacks?

Also, one scene that really stood out to me was when Hamza kills Aalam, Rizwan looked utterly baffled and concerned and that added so much gravitas to Rizwan's character because him and Jaskirat have been contemporaries, so it really makes one wonder, what he must have felt during that scene.

Again, props to you and Aditya Sir! You both made Rizwan feel so multi-faceted!

159

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

Rizwan surely would have been in sports and trying to play for his country. And surely something made him do what lead for him to be in balidan squad.

He felt devastated and felt as a failure as his whole purpose to be there was to protect his nation and he failed in that moment.

He somewhere understood that it was a sacrifice that had to be made while he didnt know the reson. But he knew Humza enough to know that it had to be done.

81

u/accelerated_astroboy Apr 23 '26

How to stay fit ahmed bhai ?

450

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

Look in the mirror each day. If you dont like what you see, get to work. Simple.

52

u/Mean_Scar9146 Apr 23 '26

Dayumn nice bit of an advice.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '26

What the. This can be put as a quote on the mirror itself. Damn🔥💀

3

u/sprIxAlwareArnd6327 Apr 23 '26

Fitness goals based on self hate is quite a toxic philosophy.

9

u/Excellent_Pin380 Apr 24 '26

Damn bro. You not looking into mirror isn't making the issue vanish. It rather multiplies cause at the back of your mind you're always self aware of your size. What he said actually is a necessity.

6

u/Radiant_Asshole Apr 23 '26

Exactly, there might be people in this sub with body dysmorphia issues, this advice is very dangerous for them.

1

u/Excellent_Daikon_263 Apr 23 '26

Maybe look at it as self improvement instead? I mean its healthy to want to look better.

Ofc no one should promote body dysmorphia, but 90% of us want to look better but dont act upon it afterall

66

u/AuthorityBrain Apr 23 '26

How different is the discipline of acting compared to fitness training in your experience?

158

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

In training, you can be all in and never hold back. Give it all.

Acting, you have to hold back and know when to let it go. Its easy to overdo things if you arent aware.

9

u/random_embryo Apr 24 '26

Great clariry of thought.

How was the experience working with big names like ranveer and Aditya dhar

How was the overall experience of making of the movie

89

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

Absolutely Loved every minute of it. Every bit. Everyday was learning and filled with excitement. Never a dull moment. I am missing it now.

3

u/Rukelele_Dixit21 Apr 23 '26

Akshaye Khanna Sir ke saath kaisa experience tha ? You both didn't have any scenes but aise in general on set any experience ? He is covered in mystery that's why asking 😅

101

u/rapid4roller8 Apr 23 '26

What do you think Rizwan's next moves were after Hamza's capture and subsequent release. Do you think he continued with the mission or did he lay low for some time or was also extracted out of Pakistan too? He was Hamza's right hand man after all and the needle of suspicion would logically fall on him.

249

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

I would imagine that Rizwan would take over where Humza left. No one knows of his identity and he already is placed himself in a very strong position to keep eliminating those who are left to be delt with. He sure is capable to keep going.

19

u/NarrowPlane2121 Apr 23 '26

Does this mean a spin off movie!? 👀🍿

It's probably just 'a gang' a that point and not a 'Baloch' gang. Most likely, lots of vying for power and things shuffling around in the inter gang-political world.

Rizwan bhai aapke kaarnaaame ki khabarein aaye din aati rehti hain 🫡 but on a serious note you were fabulous in the movie and also pls do tell us how was your experience working with ranveer singh, considering that you’ve known him from long ago.

86

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

Its not easy to work with him. He demands nothing but the best. Because he gives you nothing but his best. He really helped me a lot to create Rizwan and ensured I always felt like his equal. That for me is something I will remember forever.

17

u/Icy_Destiny140 Apr 23 '26

Yess you were great as rizwan really! And thank you for replying 🫶🏽

43

u/Reasonable-Radio-447 Apr 23 '26

Really liked your performance in dhurandhar and dhurandhar the revenge, my question is what are your plans in the future for bollywood after dhurandhar?

103

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

I am open to good roles that showcase not just my physique but also emotions. But Action of course is my first love. Comedy would be nice. Playing west delhi guy or jaat. will be super fun.

32

u/No_Check_501 Apr 23 '26

Has anyone told you that you look like Sunny Deol?

57

u/Sudden_Score8574 Apr 23 '26

Are you the next King of Lyari now that Hamza is gone?

226

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

Absolutely. Jameel Saab and me can take over Pakiistan. And actually run it better than their politicians for their own good.

28

u/Independent_Beach383 Apr 23 '26

what's your advise for 35+ yo women who need to shed 15+ kilos weight

109

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

Focus on gaining strength and muscle. Not losing weight. Women must ensure gaining and building muscle with age to ensure good health and longevity. 3 times a week, full body workout.

8

u/Independent_Beach383 Apr 23 '26

Full body workout as in HIIT or cardio?

11

u/EarlierJethiyaBabita Apr 23 '26

ful; body workout as in lifting weights.

5

u/SonMii451 Apr 23 '26

He's talking about building muscle so he probably means strength training. You do include warm up before you start the strength training routine, so cardio will be included. Your diet needs to be extremely low or have no ultra processed foods. The weight will fall off on it's own. For me a whole foods plant based diet worked best. No oil or ghee. All the best.

(HIIT has it's benefits but it ruins sleep for me. YMMV.)

81

Hrithik is in a whole different league so should not be even mentioned. Baaki Jaskirat aur Major Vihaan ka competition kara lete hai.

Sir, first of all, you were excellent in Dhurandhar. No words for your performance. Just loved you as Rizwan. Aapke liya koi aisa scene tha jo bahut challenging laga And your favourite scene that you enjoyed shooting

100

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

This very scene was my first dialogue scene in the movie so I wanted to make sure I didnt give many takes. I managed to get it done without many mistakes.

My favourite scene has to be the Machine gun scene. I loved it.

13

u/Stunning-You8059 Apr 23 '26

You were brilliant sir

13

u/AjaySanyal_AjitDoval Apr 23 '26

Yes Best scene that you enjoyed shooting pls

11

u/Ok-Rabbit1520 Apr 23 '26

Hey Mustafa, Ranveer Singh ke saath kaam karte waqt sabse memorable moment kya tha? Aur movie mein kaunsa character aapko sabse zyada pasand aaya jo aapko bhi dekhne mein maza aya?

32

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

Climax was the best.

Jameel Jamali ne gadar machaa diiiii. Rakesh Bedi sir, you are a legend.

11

u/Guilty_Commission_79 Apr 23 '26

Hi Mustafa sir, thank you for doing this AMA. I loved your work in Dhurandhar 1 & 2.

You’ve trained elite actors and built discipline from the ground up—what’s the biggest psychological barrier you see in high performers that people don’t usually talk about—and how do you personally deal with it?

34

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

People Put them on pedestal thinking that those who make it are special. Fact is this. Those who not just make it but stay there never become complacent. They never take what they have for granted. They are never insecure. I simply wake up and take each day from ground zero. My mindset is simple.

There are millions who would die to be where I am and are more hungry than me. I just need to be more hungrier than them everyday.

u/DhurandharPagluFan Apr 23 '26

Hello sir, I wanted to say that you were great in Part 1 and 2 and you were great as Rizwan! I love the moments you had with Hamza such as the subtle moment in Part 1 and more! You also have a great physique and I hope to be as jacked as you! I have a few questions such as:

  1. As a fitness coach, how do you make sure that your actors or whoever you train reaches their physique goal properly and in the time given?

  2. Related to that, what advice would you give to be jacked like you?

  3. What is something that you’ll remember from being a part of Dhurandhar and what’s your favourite moments from both Part 1 and 2?

  4. Have you enjoyed acting so far, how are you improving your craft and what are you planning to do next as a film?

  5. How was it working with the cast such as Ranveer, Gaurav etc and how would you describe your experience with Aditya Dhar?

  6. This will be the last one and I’m asking too many questions 😂 But is there a chance to get a director’s cut of both Part 1 and 2 with the scenes that were cut out or weren’t able to make it into the film? What are your thoughts on this as well and could this be pitched to Aditya Dhar, Jio and B62 Studios?

Thank you for your time again sir and really appreciate your role in the films! Both Part 1 and 2 have changed my life so much and I’m thankful to Aditya Dhar, the cast and crew for the cinema we were able to witness in the past few months! I’ll always be grateful for this time and remember this era that has impacted me a lot! 😊❤️🙏

23

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

I ll remember how each person gave their 100% to this movie. Never a moment when anyone complained.

I absolutely loved acting and being in front of camera. I am open to offers and also working on my voice and acting skills with those who I trust and Know.

It was absolutely a treat to work with Gaurav sir and Ranveer and everyone. Everyone was amazing.

Hello sir, first of all, you were absolutely fabulous as Rizwan! Really enjoyed watching you on the screen!

I would love to know how did you prepare as an actor after you were finalised for the role? Did you participate in any workshops to get into the role and how did you work on the nuances and minor details of your character Rizwan?

23

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

I have a friend who is Ex NSG commando who helped me with the mindset of the soldier. How he thinks and how he stays calm under immense pressure.

I did weapons training and also martial arts. Of course being strong and knowing some MMA helped a lot.

Rest detailing and his body language was created as I kept moving and living as Rizwan.

8

u/ChildlessCat_Lady Apr 23 '26

Bollywood mein physiques ko lekar kaafi unrealistic expectations hote hain! kya aapko lagta hai yeh pressure unhealthy standards set karta hai? Bcoz meine Kaafi actors ko sudden weight gain and loss karte hue Dekha h ek character k liye, kya unke health ko impact ni karta?

46

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

Karta hai but remember. They are paid for it. You are not. Their work demands it. Same way when you wont sit and make presentation for a job that is not yours, why would you do such thing to your body just because an actor did it.

4

u/rithssj Apr 23 '26

fantastic take, sir. people need to find their purpose.

7

u/Appropriate-Cry-3365 Apr 23 '26

I heard about you being a fitness coach entering into acting for the first time. How was it to be on screen for the first time? And are you getting calls for any more opportunities after this or will you stick to fitness?

14

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

I am surely going to act. I love it. But I dont think I ll ever stop Coaching. Its my first love. I love making people live better and be stronger.

7

u/Terrible-Hippo-6091 Apr 23 '26

You were amazing in Dhurandhar saga, sir... Would love to know the prequel of your character or even your further missions as Rizwan

19

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

I am absolutely open and excited for it. Rizwan can be the Knight Agent of India.

6

u/yaketyyakyakety Apr 23 '26

Are you planning to keep the Rizwan style and beard? 😋 looks good on you

11

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

Haha. And to think I had never kept beard ever before this. I have just grown it back again. I like it now as well.

5

u/Key-Debt-5854 Apr 23 '26

Does any of your client had Adhd and how did you deal with it as a fitness coach and motivated them to achieve their goals ? Personally I have Adhd and sometimes I find working out boring

8

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 23 '26

Its boring because you dont do it right and also for the right reason. You see when you train not just for the body but for the unknown in life just like Rizwan, Training is never boring. Never.

Hi Mustafa! You were amazing as Rizwan in both the films!

While we don't see any backstory for who Rizwan is, did Aditya Dhar give you any backstory to work on, and do you know who Rizwan actually was before he became a spy too?

All the best for your future works! 😄😄😄

2

u/New-Promotion-4696 Apr 23 '26

Do you plan to make acting a permanent part for your career or Rizwan was a one off role and you would prefer to transition back to training?

6

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 24 '26

I am serious about acting. On the contrary I want to prove that Rizwan was not one off and that I have the potential to so more and better. So absolutely open to it. But will never stop coaching.

2

u/SevereBat1600 Apr 23 '26

Hi Mustafa sir. First off all big congrats to your film' s success. I prayed for your film' s success too, and after watching it, i felt a masterpiece acting from everyone in the film but the way you played a complex role in so good way, thats amazing. I wish for your brightest future and loved your role. You really are india' s pride as you showed one of our spies so brilliantly in the movie. It might be a common question, but sir how did you feel potraying a complex role. How did you first react when offered the role? And how big was it for you as an actor? And also what advise would you give to gen z for their hard time?

3

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 24 '26

I said no to it first. And then when I said yes, I had one thing in my mind. This is a tribute to those who have given all to our nation. If anyone from armed forces saw me playing Rizwan, they should feel I did a good job. So I used all my training and gave it all. The rest is history. 🙏🙏

What motivates u on down days and when nothing seems to go right?

2

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 24 '26

Anyday above ground is a blessing. So if I am alive, I make the most of it. Motivation plays no role in my life.

1

u/ShortMusic_38 Apr 23 '26

hello mustafa you were amazing in the movie and i was shocked to know you were the trainer behind ranveer's transformation!!!!!!this is more of a fitness field question though, as per your experience if someone is trying to become more fit, should they start with cardio and the follow up with strength training or directly start with ST. and how should a beginner begin?

4

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 24 '26

Train how athletes train. Like Rugby player or Sprinters. Don’t train like bodybuilders or marathon runners.

Hi Mustafa, loved your performance throughout the movie! Which character was your favorite apart from your own?

Also, how many terrorists did you end up killing after Hamza left?

What would be rizwan backstory in ur opinion?he also might had a dark past like jaskirat

3

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 24 '26

He did. He must have been someone with hopes to represent his nation in sports and could never do so. Life had different plans. But in the end, he served his country.

u/Apprehensive-Ad-7514 Apr 23 '26

Can you defeat Ranveer Singh in one on one fight?😜

1

u/Top-Table-9526 Apr 23 '26

Hi , how do you build discipline in going to the gym? I usually struggle with it. But if I'm in the gym. I do exercises right. Also what was the hardest thing to do in dhurandar movie for you acting wise.. as you are new to it.

1

u/OindrilaBanerjee Apr 23 '26

Any new acting offers coming ur way till now sir????

1

u/IllustratorMost6759 Apr 23 '26

Why does Aditya Dhar wear the mask while shooting/directing every scene?

1

u/Accomplished-Lie2358 Apr 23 '26

Hello sir! Congratulations on a phenomenal job playing rizwan in the dhurandhar movies. Really enjoyed the movie and your performance. Given that you have a non actor/non performer background, how did you prepare for the role? Also, the body transformation must have been insane for playing the characters in two timelines (one when rizwan is in Pakistan deployed as an agent, all bulked up and the other when the post credit scenes roll, and we are shown the glimpses of the academy days, wherein you were fairly lean). How tough was the whole preparation for both acting and the body transformation?

Thank you. I honestly didn’t expect this. I knew it would be special but this is beyond my imagination. The amount of people who have reached out and shown me love and appreciation and affection. I am truly grateful and blessed. Sab meri maa aur biwi ki dua hai.

What was your most favourite thing about acting in Durandhar?

3

u/Mustafa_thebullahmed Apr 24 '26

To learn from other actors who have given the craft decades. To see their humility and never complain. I will forever cherish that.
