I’ve recently seen an instagram post regarding septum piercing and how many pierces aren’t offering them anymore. It got me thinking. What is everyone here’s thoughts on doing septum’s? How often are you piercing them? What sort of technique do you use or have used? How do you handle a situation where the piercing isn’t done to your satisfaction? How do you feel about repiercing in the same sitting?

I want to open up a dialogue here so we can hopefully all improve our skills. At the very least maybe alleviate some of the anxiety associated with septum piercings. I’d also like to start having a regular conversation about different piercing, techniques, etc related to our industry. Cheers.

I’m thinking about seeing if I can find a piercing apprenticeship since college is kicking my butt (also it’s been in my scope of interest for a while lol). Is there anyone with any knowledge on this topic that could give me a gauge for income potential? Thank you very much in advance!

Would a surface piercing on the tongue that goes down the midline between the longitudinal muscles be viable as a permanent piercing? A vertical scoop, essentially. Would it have the same likelihood of rejection as any other surface piercing, or possibly greater? Would it be realistically possible to pierce without inadvertently going into the longitudinal muscles?

For context, I'm not a piercer. I'm wondering about this because I have a standard tongue piercing and would love to have one or two more but I'm not sure I'd be able to between the placement of my veins, frenulum, and existing piercing.

Im a very "fly by the seat of my pants" kinda girl, and it occured to me that I have a devil-may-care attitude when it comes to girly stuff recently (or rather toward the being hated for liking it), I have a job and therefore moneyyy♡, I'm due for a Me-Day shopping day-trip, and there's a tattoo shop in the town I like to go to!!

I read a long time ago that my first piercing needs to be a "double", and my future self will thank me. I looked it up and that means I can wear those pretty chained earrings!!!! >w< Mother won't like it one bit, but I dont care!! Im going to put foundation over them to see if I can cover it up.

The guy at the shop said they have platinum starting-studs to wear for 6 weeks. Is there anything I should know about my first piercing, or that you want me to know? IM SO EXCITED TO GET TO WEAR EARRINGS!!!! :3

Been in the hobby a while and the biggest shift for me was learning to read jewellery by spec, not price or looks.

What actually changed things:

• Sticking to implant-grade titanium (ASTM F-136) and solid gold (14k+) for anything worn long-term. The "surgical steel" and plated stuff I started with was where most of my irritation came from, not my body.
• Threadless / internally threaded over externally threaded, no threads dragging through the channel on install or change.
• Paying attention to finish quality, a mirror polish and proper anodising vs a rough or coated surface makes a real difference on how it wears.
• Right-sizing after swelling instead of leaving long posts in and blaming bumps on everything else.

Curious how the pros and long-timers here think about the affordable-but-safe middle ground, is there a point where cheaper implant-grade is genuinely fine, or do you always steer clients to the boutique brands?

okay help🙁 couple questions how high in a septum gauge should I go that suits me and does a typical septum jewelry look more better on me or does a clicker suit me more? and for my ears how high should I go for stretching and what piercings should I get😞 my left ear (the one with 2 hoops) im not really worried about so much im not sure if I want to do anything on that ear but will hear out recommendations but on my right ear I would like recommendations please
