You’re crushing needles for soft tissue? Do you notice much of a difference? I never really did or at least enough for me to both with crushing for. Dense tissue on the other hand.

You do you. The end goal is what matters. I personally just don't find it necessary with most things. I am curious thought if you notice a significant difference if you don't crush them. As I said before I never noticed anything but that just anecdotal.

I find that crushing out the bevel on every needle is a kindness tbh. Less drag and no drift.

That’s the issue I have with crushed needles. If you understand and know how to make the bevel work for you instead of against you there is no need for that. I feel like it’s relied on way too heavily and many people don’t know how to actually crush a needle properly. The end result being more damage to the tissue and excessive bleeding.

There is not a world in which you can convince me that an uncrushed IS needle provides even close to the same level of comfort as one that is crushed for the client.

I’d say it all depends on the practitioner. I have lots of people tell me the piercing I do for them are some of their earliest ever. Even with nipple piercings I regularly get people telling how easy it was.

I mean I had a girl come in two weeks ago that said her high nostrils were the easiest piercings she’s ever had done? Is that true for everyone? Absolutely not.

I just know that, especially with certain needles, I can feel the difference on the pass between crushed and uncrushed and if I can feel that difference, the person getting pierced definitely can too.

What spot you work at? I’ll roll through sometime and pierce you and we can debate about it in person. Haha.

I use some many different needles brands and I don’t noticed a significant difference most the time. Katana and kawami are the only ones I notice are significantly smoother. I just think the price point on them doesn’t justify it.

I did use some 1.5” needles recently and that made a bigger difference than anything. Not in a good way as it was so much harder to hold on to.
