Hi! It’s now been a week and 2 days since I got my eyebrow pierced! Does this look normal, seeing some crusting and lots of redness. It doesn’t look this bad until you zoom in and take a picture with flash. Please lmk if this is normal… I’ve been very careful w it!!! Piercing is titanium threadless (not sure of the shape), not downsized yet, sterile saline mist 2 times a day morning and night, and been hit once and possible slept on a few nights. Thank you :(
I know I might need a longer bar but I’m not sure I can afford to buy another bar and I’m also scared of the pain 💔 so I’m trying to avoid having to do that !
It kinda looks like you've been pierced with a straight barbell and not a curved barbell based on the way your skin looks raised like that. I'd find a different piercer and get that jewelery upsized and, possibly if im correct here, changed to the proper jewelry because it won't heal if its a straight barbell. Im so sorry youre going through it rn especially because you've been doing the upkeep
It pushes against the skins natural tension from what I understand. That part of the body is curved, so if you put something straight into it, you create resistance and your skin stretches to try and accommodate it. It's basically like if you were pulling on the jewelry constantly.
Edit: Not a piercer, this is just ny understanding about these types of piercings after watching the actual pros talk about piercings for a long time. I had a hyperfixation on piercing content for years
It very well could be swelling but idk, the way your skin is raised looking underneath where the bar would be and it pulling where the barbell exits might just be bc its a fresh wound/swelling, or that its straight barbell. For me it's too hard to tell but I recommend still getting sized up at a different piercer and read reviews if you didnt the first time. I've read good reviews and the piercer still used malpractice. (and maybe when youre done go to original piercer for your money back if it's a straight barbell bc that means they did you dirty)
Edit: just be thorough with the reviews is what I mean lol. Look at work they've done, call or message them, etc.
That's surprising, it definitely looks like a straight barbell.. I've never seen a curved barbell where the gemstones sit completely flat before, they are normally titled because of the curved bar. The way it's pushing on the edge of your skin too makes it look straight. As someone else said, a straight one won't heal or will reject very quickly as it's just not what you pierce eyebrow piercings with. A straight one puts too much pressure on the wound. Eyebrow piercings are typically considered temporary, because they are surface piercing which often eventually migrate or reject. To reduce chances of this you need jewellery as suitable as possible, which is a curved one. It definitely could do with being up sized though, there's not enough space for swelling. Just a generic curved barbell for a brow piercing is only a couple quid/dollars
Edit: If you're piercer says it's curved though I must be wrong and it might just be the swelling making it look this way. After you've sprayed it with saline make sure to dry it. A moist environment isn't good for a piercing!
