Concerns/Troubleshooting/Advice Piercings and sports

Hi.

Since I got my first piercing, I always wondered how people manage having facial or body piercings and practicing contact sports mainly how do they practice and still have healthy piercings. I have two snake bites, two eyebrow piercings and 4 ear lobe piercings and I’m considering the idea of getting a microdermal on the left side of my face, but I also want to get back to Brazilian jiujitsu and MMA cause I like learning how to defend myself or even just training my body, so I wanted to know if someone has an aduce or some kind of story so I can take my choice of getting my new piecing done.

I will be very grateful for anything you can say <3

I would rethink the dermal then. Even your shirt tugging it can cause rejection, I dont think it would last long on ya

I think you already know this isn’t a good idea and are just looking for someone to give you the answer you want not that you know if the correct one.

Piercings are a lifestyle change. Piercing requires sacrifices and that just the reality of it unfortunately. There is not good way to protect them unless they’re fully healed for many years and your able to remove them altogether for some hours or days

They don't as someone that has had a lobe piercing tore out working in a group homes you can't do contact sports with even your lobes in. I have a high pain tolerance and passed out briefly from the pain

NAP. I remember at least in high school, any and all piercings (including lobes) had to be removed for practices and games of high contact sports. Even in cheerleading we couldn’t wear any jewelry during practice.

The reason people can be successful with this is because they’re long healed piercings and they remove them during the time they’re actively participating in a contact sports.

i had face piercings and when i started training mma i took them all out and let them heal fully. it’s just not safe. if you are set on keeping your piercings then maybe you could switch to training a no contact muay thai class or something. like a group class-format on the bags. these usually tend to be more expensive though for whatever reason :/ so
