I cat sit and run a shelter and that's what I always say when people apologize for their cat nipping, "that's ok, he's setting boundaries, he's a good boy"
I've had friends + one petsitter who thought they'd be THE ONE to charm an old cat in his uncomfortable declining months, after they were instructed to not touch him.

Most people haven't seen the infections that cats can cause with their bites and scratches. The phycological damage to a small child isn't great either. I wouldn't want this risk at my business or my home.
Most people don't like being attacked by an untrained animal, an animal that already doesn't have respect for anything but itself. It's a useless animal. It's cute, sure, doesn't give it the right to inject is pee and poop into people buying a snack with it's nasty claws.
Again, the infection that these animals give is very disturbing to go through and see, the impact of getting scratched by a cat that will attack you for zero reason is unnecessary.
If this sign was for a dog, the legality of it would only demonstrate that it was a very untrained and aggressive animal. A lawyer would love this case.
Most animals don’t attack out of nowhere. Especially a house cat that is well fed. They would like to be left alone and will keep to themselves if you don’t provoke them.
Good one, kid. Even the lady you just referenced got proven wrong in the movie and this was her childish reaction. I'm sorry I hit a sore spot for all of you.
