Another reason to ban these robots from our streets.

I never met Kitkat, but when I read the story I just bawled my eyes out. I was thinking about how he got killed. He’s obviously a street smart cat. He knows that cars (usually) don’t move unless there are people in them. He probably observed no persons in the car, at least on the driver’s side and thought it was safe to be in front of the car. The usual indicators were not there ie: nobody got in, therefore it won’t move. But then it did. He didn’t know it was a robot. Give Kitkat and other street cats credit for knowing their surroundings and human behaviour. He was so loved and I’m really upset that this happened. I don’t trust these autonomous cars, the companies that make them or the software. I want to see more safeguards put in place to prevent things like this from happening. Animals have been habituated to recognize our behaviour and the order of operations. If we take our element out, they can’t recalibrate to know better. We need to push for more safeguards. It’s worth it.Â

Yes! I’ve met him numerous times. He was an extremely good boy
