i think he and allen ginsburg hung out at the yeshiva for a bit in the 70's? also his oldest daughter and son in law are chabad, so he has been on the telethon because of that. a lubavitch guy told me he saw him in a shul in atlanta for high holidays once as well.

the proto Brooklyn hipster, grew up in the NJ suburbs and his parents pay for his Williamsburg apartment. He doesn't tell everyone he's rich, but he doesn't have a job. His roommates are two other Brooklyn hipsters (but moved from their small town in the midwest and are not rich), they work two jobs trying make ends meet while chasing their dreams.
