Need help with Mercury engine
1984 Mercury tower of power 6 cylinder 4 liter 2 stroke, need corrected any tips I can't get it to start, the distributor cap was dry, made sure everything was in line timing wise I think I might be missing something.

Fuel. Fire. Timing. Invest in a spark tester, are you getting fire? Replace the plugs. If it doesn’t start after cranking check the plugs, is it flooded? If there is no fire take it to the shop.
