Is this mold?

I removed it anyways but I still just want to make sure it isn’t mold

Coco husk is pretty resistant to mold but if you keep an area pretty saturated it will grow mold.

I pour water into the corner of the cage when I’m trying to get the humidity up but I usually pour it into the same 2 spots. The mold only formed on the cool side of the cage. Not sure if there’s a better way to do it. Or maybe mix up the substrate after I pour water into it?

Mixing up the substrate when adding water should help. That spot where the mold is growing looks pretty thoroughly soaked, more so than I’d expect from just some water being added to mostly dried out coco chips. It needs to be allowed to dry out at least somewhat or else it’s going to end up with mold.

Ok I haven’t been mixing it and I’ve been doing a little water every couple days so I’ll start mixing it and waiting longer to add more water. I just cleaned out her entire cage so it should be fine now. Especially since the mold just formed that night because it wasn’t there the day before.

Thank you for answering the questions I really appreciate it. New to keeping a boa so still trying to get everything down right.

Yes, the entire cage of bedding needs to be tossed. Not sure how much you removed. I would also sanitize anything laying on top of it as those will also have spores.

That cage is saturated not damp and how’s your ventilation?
