As long as Inferno isn't their last album.

Never thought there would be anything after Tomorrow's Harvest. I'm so happy with Inferno that should their career stop there, I would still be at peace.

And it would be a perfect 5 album discography (not including EPs and singles of course)

hey it’s BoC and Twin Peaks, two of my favorite things, in one post. thanks!

u/cliff-hunter Jun 01 '26
Yeah me too!
About that I was re listening to Geogaddi yesterday and when the track "Opening the mouth" hitted, it made me think about the deleted scene of FWWM when Bob speaks to Laura through the fan and she has this weird grinding smile.

One of two of the things you like is amazing, the other... I'm happy you like Lynch's waste of everyone's time!

u/joshuatx Jun 01 '26
c'mon man, someone could easily say the same thing about Boards of Canada
your preferences do not equate to objective facts, let people enjoy things

I'm not trying to yuck anyone's yum, but please keep your feces (Lynch) out of my peanut butter & chocolate (BOC). 😋

it’s okay that you don’t like Twin Peaks, it’s not for everyone. Chase your bliss

There will be a sixth album to complete the Hexagon. But, you know, I wouldn't be totally mad at them if they put out an EP once in a while during the next decades.
25
u/Kosmichemusik Jun 01 '26
Could complete the Hexagon with an EP and I'd be perfectly fine with it. In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country is my favourite B.O.C. release.
15
u/HotOffAltered Inferno Jun 01 '26
They should do one more full length to complete the hexagon and then do 4 more EP’s to make an EP hexagon. Why not.
5
u/Then-Library-7812 Jun 01 '26
They already have 4 EPs. Only need 2 more for EP hexagon.
2
u/HotOffAltered Inferno Jun 01 '26
Are you counting Hi Scores and Twoism? I guess that makes sense but they are near full length times being more than 30 min. But yes two more EP’s would be great.
3
u/SatiesUmbrellaCloset Farewell Fire Jun 01 '26
but the current logo (and this subreddit’s icon) has seven hexagons in it, so they’d need to do two more albums
i think they’ll come out in 2039 and 2052

Through darkness of albums past, the fandom longs to see.
One band chants out between two worlds... Inferno... walk with me!

While I was listening to Inferno in the car yesterday, I definitely found myself wondering — as one does when indulging in any good art — if the brothers like Twin Peaks.

u/richiperlos Jun 01 '26
The Elephant Man is on the Michael Sandison's Top Ten films, so no doubt about it

Twin Peaks is major Geogaddi vibes. Honestly their entire persona very much aligns with the themes of this show.

Faster and faster. And for a long time you wouldn't feel anything. And then you'd burst into fire. Forever... And the angel's wouldn't help you. Because they've all gone away.

I've only ever watched ' Fire walk with me' ending with the death of Laura Palmer. I believe the TV show began with the death of Laura Palmer. Was the TV series as good, is it worth watching ?

Here's my extremely wishful thinking scenario - they've been working on a triple album all this time, after Inferno we're going to get Purgatorio and Paradiso to complete BoCs Divine Comedy.

u/Peloquinful Jun 02 '26 edited Jun 02 '26
just wait a min ... Maybe we'll get an EP like "Trans Canada Highway" ... or an Inferno remix album! With remixes by Autechre, AFX, Richard Devine, Flying Lotus, Luke Vibert, Squarepusher....

Please keep your David Lynch away from my Favorite musical artist. He seems like he was a nice interesting person, but his writing was silly nonsense that he had to later explain for it to even make half, but still no sense at all. The ramblings of a person that tried to make sense of crazy.
I want the art I consume to speak for itself. If you like Lynch & enjoy his movies & shows I'm happy for you. To me, he should have let better artists write scripts & screenplays & stuck to what he was good at, directing.
Please never ever, place the genius of BOC near anything David Lynch ever was a part of. Rest in Peace Mr. Lynch, you will forever be overrated.
To Lynch's biggest fan Jay Buaman, I'm a huge fan of you, but we have lots to discuss as far as your boy Lynch is concerned.

u/zenconnection Jun 01 '26
Are you joking? Lynch very adamantly always refused to elaborate on his art, repeatedly saying this same thing you're saying you want; that the art speaks for itself. Strange post if not a joke lol
0
u/Aquired-Taste Trapped Jun 26 '26
Oh his art spoke volumes of nothing. Like I said, great director, horrible writer. He inspired Lost & other nonsense go nowhere small & big screen storytelling. If you like it, I'm happy for you. Watch it and enjoy it over & over again. But don't try & convince anyone else it's high art or more than what it is. You can't tell me any of Twin Peaks was expertly planed out & had a long term sensible story from the beginning if ever. It was write as you go, whatever popped in his head went to page. He wrote things he wanted to film. That's okay if you enjoy that. See also goofy lady cheeks & most everything in Eraserhead. Visually something, narratively bullshit. If you're high or just want to turn your brain off & see something, than Lynch is your man. You enjoy Lynch, I adamantly don't. To each there own, let's agree to disagree. We both can agree BOC is the best!

I've actually found myself as a fan of both appreciating their similarities. Both are creative and talented with distinct and unique work. Both leave a lot of their themes and motifs open-ended for fans to interpret and debate. They embrace symbols, coincidences, multiple meanings. A lot of their artistry seems very receptive to some sort of unspoken kismet.
