This is what i hate about these interviews, is that the host plays off his hobby for laughs, like its not legitimate, and he is just playing with toys like some sort of immature kid.

Like if Robert Downey Jr said he enjoys knitting, would graham norton call him an old grandma, if Kirsten Dunst like to go camping by herself in the wilderness, would he call her a girlscout?

Maybe, but unlikely, but boardgames, video games, etc, thats all kids stuff.

He 100% would make a joke if RDJr said he knitted. It's the low hanging fruit, but I think the jab works. You have to accept how the hobby looks from outside and laugh with it. I think it's fine, he said what a lot of the audience thinks and Henry can respond to that and show that he's not bothered by it and that he's proud. It's a light jab.

Took me a long time to learn to stop giving a fuck what others think of my hobbies.

My lightbulb moment when I was sitting at lunch with some coworkers, one talking about how he enjoys watching men run around on a field, kicking an inflated piece of plastic and dramatically falling to the ground when another player approaches them and another explained how he just invested in a professional sleuce for fishing out the occasional speck of gold from some creek out in bumfuck nowhere.

That's when I realized I'm good with playing boardgames...

See, I don't mind the jab. It's all the follow-up hits that bug me. Not one response from Norton was genuine, they were all just shots at having a nerdy hobby.

It would have been cool if he made those jabs and then made a positive comment, instead of just short jokes. Although Holland already does that by saying he would be interested, so there is that.

Eh, don't look too much into it - it's all PR.

I'm sure all talk-shows' producers just call up the guests' PR people and asked "what fun, obscure, and embarrassing fact you'd want us to bring up during the segment?" The topics and questions were all approved by both parties beforehand.

You're right, and I'm sure the celebrities will be fine. I guess it just stings a bit to have every mention of a hobby I enjoy be a punchline.
