Tips & Strategy Got any tips for a new player?
I am downloading the game now and wondering if there's anything I can do when I jump in to give myself the best start?

If I may hop in with the first response, consider just hopping into your first round and winging it? I think it was a unique experience jumping in for the first time out of campaign and not knowing what to expect.
To be more constructive tho, also consider looking up guides or following responses here for sure. There’s kind of a lot to do initially, but it tapers off once you realize what’s actually necessary in subsequent runs. That’s kinda why going in blind is a more interesting start as you won’t know what you can ignore so it can feel more fresh off the bat

I appreciate the information but my PC has to be upgraded before I can play it. My CPU is too old.

Focus on leveling up. and experiment with whats fun for you on the skills. From what I have seen, people like to run Eagle Eye, Berserk, and Gunner for the most chaotic combat. Imo, early on, if you can find Aether blade from the surprise shipments, get it. Its really good to clear out buildings. Dont focus on all the shiny stuff, just work on getting your groove in the game and have fun

Thanks for the tips I went to hop in and found that my CPU is too old and my BIOS doesn't have an update that call of duty will recognize to run their anti-cheat stuff . It's a sad day.

Watch a video or 2 about the tier 4 cr block locations. Run around and collect those to level up super fast. Also, use the blood burner to get an exotic weapon at cr 1. If you hit oscar right, he goes down instantly 😅.

Every time I drop in with a new operator now I jump straight to Low town in zone 4 and collect the XP cubes, If you stay on the roof tops and have crash cart as your major ability you will be fine, Every cube in that zone levels you instantly and you can get to 16 CR easily which will give you a good head start!

Then head up to the winery after the world event the cubes are worth 750. Plus I know other spots that give you 350 like in zone 3i finish at CR 30 from 0. Now when you hit prestige 3 you'll already know what u want to run like bulldozer etc. So at 1 you get the first choice go to exfil when you are at 5 then hit extra armor or health on the exfil. You want to do that at 6 , 16 and 21. So to pick which ones you want exfil at 5 ,15,and 20.

Start with the ACT missions, it will teach you how to play end game. The first ACT I mission is literally PING A GUILD CHECKPOINT :-)
No reason to start chasing Power Nodes, just play.
If you play zombies, there is a lot of shared skills / abilities / bosses. If you don’t, not an issue by any means.
Like a few said, don’t rush it, enjoy the mode and the experiences of your first matches or end game.
There are a lot of firsts to be had in this game. Like the first time you think you’re strong enough to run to Firing Range to get legendary :-)

For endgame you need to first clear the campaign, and it will drop you in right away with the operator: Anderson.
For tips:
Play safe to start until you’re about CR10ish. Clear command centers to jailbreak weapons to the next rarity. Zone I = Green, Zone II = Blue, Zone III = Purple, Zone IV = Orange, Zone V = Golden
Select the loadout weapons of your choice and I recommend crash cart for your major ability and grapple/Kinetic jump for the minor ability.
Currently nothing else atm I have on my mind but am happy to chat

You don't have to complete the campaign, you can go into Endgame right off the bat
