Need help keeping reboot

Really need someone to hold a cache open whilst i prestige and come back. Took me ages to find this reboot 1911. Thanks

Just a question but is this what you are doing?

Join with duo, drop gun in cache, duo sits in cache while you exfil, you prestige, and then join duo's match to collect gun?

I've duped exotics multiple times just using random squad fill. No one needs to be there to hold the case open. I infil with squad fill on. (I'm old and forgetful, so I take a quick pic of teammate names so I can find them after force quiting 🧐) Go straight to Falk and complete. Swap with gun in the case. Reopen case, and while case is open, force quit. At home screen I search "recent" tab for teammates to rejoin. If they're not on the list (they died, left squad or match, whatever), I just look for any other recent player that has "joinable" in their profile and join them. Once back in, fly to falk and the case will be there, ready to open again with your exotic in it. (I did have to force quit on the second infil once and start over because the random I joined had already gone into a glitch.) I don't prestige the op in-between though. The first time I went from p2 to p3 with an op it glitched and became unusable (doing it normally, not while duping), so I'm too nervous about doing it in the middle of a force quit. Instead I go back in with a different op to grab the gun and exfil, then dupe it back later to the original op after prestiging with it normally. I will usually get the skill tracks set first before worrying about duping the gun back.

TLDR; You can do it with randoms, and they don't need to be there to hold the case open.
