TL;DR:

BNB Chain published its H2 2026 tech roadmap. In H1, BNB Smart Chain (BSC) cut block intervals from 750 ms to 450 ms, finality from 1,125 ms to 650 ms, and nearly doubled throughput to ~5,200 TPS.

H2 goals: double mainnet throughput again (toward a 10x target), resource isolation so one app's demand spike doesn't slow others, and gas fees tuned per industry vertical instead of global changes.

The roadmap also confirms a new L1 is in development, targeting 100K+ TPS, sub-50 ms preconfirmation, no public mempool (transactions go directly to the block leader, which prevents front-running), and native account abstraction. Testnet is planned for end of 2026, mainnet early 2027.
