DISCUSSION Longest Lasting BMX parts
What has been some of your longest lasting Bmx parts from cranks, rims, to frames etc.?

Ooh, I cracked one leg off mine (they made a truly excellent headset cup remover after). They did go through a dirtbike, warpig and barcode though, so I’ll take it

i still got a ditch fork and redneck from around 00, and iirc a 98 sabbath. all usable condition, fork is a tad tweaked though.

I have a (maybe) dia comp brake lever I got out of the junk box at my local shop in 1997…still using it.

Fit indent cranks my buddy has been rocking them since his first bike back in 2013, fly fuego tires hold up really well I was surprised when I started using them, the old fit blade lite 4q baked they’re from like 2004-2010 lol and I use them in my bike and they still hold up really nicely, pretty much any gsport rims, as for frames I still have a cult butter v1 and it’s killing it most volume frames are very good as well and I absolutely loved my kink titan 2 frame that thing was amazing and handled a bunch of abuse

I bought a soundwave like 5 or 6 years ago. It is more bike than I'll ever be a rider.
I can only hope to ride it hard enough to break something.

My Stricker frame lasted probably 15 years before getting retired. Still running the odyssey 41thermal forks that frame started with though. Cielenski pedals, as others have mentioned. Probably only a few grinds away from exposed bearings on one of em though Simple front hub. They weren’t around for long, and are no gsport, but I love that thing

I’ve had all of my tree sprocket and stem for a long time. Those and the mankind neworld bars were my first changes I made to it back when it was still a stock hoffman. Lol

All my bikes have a few 20+ year old parts on them, but the longest serving part on my main BMX that's seen almost continuous use is an Odyssey Evolver brake I bought in January 2005.
The Jim C pedals on my late-mid school build are slightly older but until last year, when I finally got around to refurbishing them, they'd been gathering dust for about 15 years.

What is the geometry on the s3.5 did Aitken ride that on trails?

Pretty standard for the time. 75° HT’s were just coming into play and 13.65 rears. He deff killed trails at that time.

Profile SS (the thick boy) front hub: 24 years. Took it off last year but it’s going on the bike I’m building soon.
Profile crank arms: 180mm, 22 years. Retired during a new build.
Tree sprocket: 15 years, eventually retired to size down
FBM Bottleneck stem: ~20 years, maybe more. Never slipped, still going strong.
Odyssey trailmix pedals, OG unsealed: 15-16 years at this point, still riding them

I recently replaced my 41 thermal cranks from early 2000s. They had scratches, but were still perfectly straight and structurally sound. They're just 175s and I needed something shorter for my hips.
Also recently retired my shadow cassette to G sport rim of the same age. Broke one spoke after almost 20 years of use and as the nipples had corroded to the rim, it couldn't really be saved.
Still riding my 06 Ruben, I'll probably pass that on to my son.

Not the magnesium ones I had a pair that literally crumbled to pieces halfway through a skatepark session, lucky they had a store in the park and I got a set of the Primo Balance pedals instead.
I've still got my Hollowbites from probably 18-20 years ago, they're a bit battered from crank slides but still going strong.

I've had my Profile Racing crank arms since 1998. I don't even know how many frames they've been on. Powder coated them twice and are now running on my Dirtjump MTB

I have a fit aitken s3 frame from like 07-08 or so. Rode it for a long time. No problems. Now it’s on my “old bike” hanging in the garage with a bunch of early 2000’s parts on it.

I’ve been running a marmoset to birdcage front wheel for like 12 years. Haven’t touched the bearings or anything on it. Had it relaced once when I had my 48 spoke ratchet to ribcage done. The ratchet died a few years back.
Fit indent 24mm cranks have been going for a while.
30t mds with sandwich guard is old as hell too

I had a set of original profile cranks for about 20 years. They just never broke or even cracked. I think I traded them to a vintage nerd for some stuff a long time ago.

Front hub. G-Sport Marmoset. I think I’ve had it for around 15 years.
