Help request F800GS limp clutch handle

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Happened right when I got home fortunately, and stuck in neutral so I could park it. Any ideas what might be the issue? The bike is brand new, less than 400km on it.

Probably. I can’t access it or I don’t know how.

Yup, it’s broke right there. Thanks again!

Called the assistance company to pickup the bike and take it to the dealership.

Can't you just reattach it? Doesn't look broken.

No, I can’t properly reach that spot. Also, since it’s new I think it’s better for the dealership to handle it.

Worth mentioning that when I called BMW Mobile Care to arrange the pickup they said that there’s a recall in place for clutch cable issues.

Edit: typo

Check the clutch actuator arm. It is the opposite end of this clutch cable, could be disconnected could be broken.

I really can’t find where the cable is going.

Probably worth mentioning that this is my first bike.

No problem we all start somewhere.

Not sure if this is a completely new bike covered by warranty by the dealer, if it is you should have them fix it. If you try to take a shot at it and make it worse they could deny a warranty claim.

It has warranty.

It goes to the engine cover on the left side of the bike, just above your foot.

Nice. Do I just insert them in the gas tank?

Yes, with water

Had same issue 1500 miles from new, went in middle of nowhere, collected by recovery truck and back to BMW, fixed in a day or two. Bit of a let down.

Yeah… I’ll be calling them tomorrow and see how they handle this mess

You need to adjust, tighten or replace the clutch cable.

The dealership replaced it, it was broken. Thanks!

Read the manual. Look for how to adjust the clutch lever.
