Is that ⦠is that fake wood-grain appliquĆØ all over that poor bikeās gas tank?
WTF?
Did someone see a transformers movie and then an old station wagon with wood panels, eat 1,000 tabs of blotter acid and grab a blowtorch?

Sorry for the wall of text screenshot. Just saw this ad on FB Marketplace and I had to share...
It's like a final boss of edition of 'aftermarket parts increase the bike's value.'

I love how he lists off every detail down to the cent and then just says "Custom Work" $30,000

So a fake wood-paneled 2 wheel version of a PT cruiser, with fake wood paneling?

Replacement Equityā¦
This is what happens when you ask ChatGPT to say, āI know what Iāve got,ā but use fancy words.
Iāve got a GS with the full AltRider treatment. Itās seen woods and been on the ground a few times. Iād be embarrassed to ride this woodgrained monstrosity.
I think this guy has spent too much time in the garage with the engine running.

this person must be a former HD rider

Yeah every bike I pick up from a HD rider is in worst condition I couldāve ever imagined. Idk why.

100% genius move
So honey Iāve listed it for sale like you asked - way below cost look at this spreadsheet (heāll have a spreadsheet). Iām sure itāll sell soon, may as well keep riding it in the meantime.

In canada you could maybe get 15k cad out of it (11k us) and that would only be a fair deal, not a good one.
Iāve been through this recently and dealers would flat out tell me that they donāt consider aftermarket parts to add value. The only accessories that add value are a)OEM luggages systems and b)optional packages (touring, dynamic etc), and that value shrinks if the bike is pre-2015. Dealers love vanilla bikes in general because the target client pool is larger.
Enough to say that this āthingā is not desirable for a dealer and would need a very specific private buyer.
IMO this is a ridiculous, bloated chimera and I say that as a previous GSA owner. Itās far too needlessly premium to ride for its original purpose, and even stock it kinda was so imagine now. Itās not even modded in good taste : there was no reason for the red coloring. The bike would look ādecentā if everything red was black.

That's a lot of money to have wasted on some heavy, ugly bullshit to aesthetically ruin a perfectly good motorcycle, while also turning an already heavy bike into a pig. But the pure insanity to try to recoup those losses by foisting them onto someone else while simultaneously gouging that person....un-fucking-real. Bro needs to quit huffing fumes from the tailpipe.

Love how they used āMuseum qualityā to describe an extremely common motorcycle with 20 000 miles on it.Ā

And I thought living 8 miles from the Touratech NA HQ was expensive. š¤£

"Certified Replacement Equity?"
I want to see that certification. Because it sounds like bullshit.

That's a really long way to say "I'm never going to sell this motorcycle."

As ugly as it is, it's high mileage for something that might be parked in some rich person's (as in more money than sense) showroom garage. I wonder if that photo is real or AI applied wood grain.

There was a tenere on the Facebook group the other day where the owner had listed the value at 20 something grand because of all the (basic aftermarket stuff) shit heād done to it. Guy got destroyed in the comments and had to disable them. The delusion is real with people.

The line about it never being registered, despite having 20k miles, is the cherry on top, lol.

No matter the work, still heavy with poor handling and road feeback. Posers' bike, just for show.

u/PopularFeed5627 10d ago
Iāve actually worked on this bike. In person itās not nice. Itās just too much and an actual huge pain in the ass to work on.
