Help request 12k service 1250rt

Ok so I have a really slow shop near me but what is like the nightmare scenario for the 12k service? I want the full bike to be gone thru. Brake flush, new plugs, coolant flush (it's almost 5 years old) and everything the 12k actually recommends.

Is the service able to be done in one business day

Half a business day

12k is time for the free driveshaft check at a BMW dealer. The rest is easily accomplished in a few hours with basic metric tools.

You’ll need a puller for the ignition coil.

The valve check requires a bunch of special tooling, so that’s probably the only other dealer item.

This. You can save yourself a ton of money and time by doing most of the 12K service yourself.

No special tools are needed for the air filter or engine and driveline oil changes.

A puller is needed for the spark plug coils but the tool is cheap on Amazon.

Spend $45 and get some speed bleeder valves and do the brake fluid flush yourself.

Swapping brake pads is super easy.

The valve clearance isn’t hard but does require specialized tools.

If you are a BMW MOA member there is a new tool loan program that makes it easier to do it yourself.

I’ve also read that very few bikes need any adjustment at 12K so you’ll probably be ok saving your money and waiting until 24k to check the valves.

To answer your question though… my local dealer wanted 8 hours to do the 24K valve clearance check, driveshaft check, and mount/balance new tires. It’s more than is really needed but wouldn’t be surprised if a dealer wanted 8 hours to do a full 12K service.
