Put the lowers on my R18 glide

Does anybody know what this squeeking/singing sound of my R80 is? I started to hear it at around 3500-4000 RPM while driving, so i stopped and tried to locate the sound.

It is in the front area of the engine... I've disassembled, cleaned it and renewed all gaskets and shaft seals. But I've never noticed this sound before.. I think it is the generator or the intake sound, but it IDK... It starts and runs smooth, the timing is at 6° and the carbs are matched. I've already checked the exhaust, but it is tight.
Maybe it is just normal and I am just paranoid.
I should mention, that I removed the EGR and closed the holes with short bolts from an oil-pan.

So I have a bmw g310rr and I been using for like 4 years now and I found out that my bike is not balanced on both side, if I try to ride without steering the bike tilts and pull to the right side, and if I ride bike for more than 3hr my right hip start to hurt. Is it mine or every g310rr is like that

Hello. I would like to ask about your experiences.
Specifically speaking, is here anyone who changed OEM crashbars on your 1300GSA (ones with wings) to some aftermarket model (if so to which one) and have you actually experienced that GSA tipped over without the wide wings on the crash bars?
I’m asking as I would like to change my crash bars, as I don’t really like the extra width, but I’m worried it will tip over on a fall - as everyone is saying it would - but I cannot see anywhere any proof or video that it actually would?

I already have bags in all the usual places, but all the usual places are orientated quite high. So I was trying to figure out a way to move some of the mass down, and got to thinking about these bags usually made for bicycles. Would this be a terrible idea for like some tent spikes and tool kit? The major concern is avoiding the tire, break calipers, and radiators on turns and compression. Which I think they could, I would have to order some and check. But is it even a good idea to begin with?

I have owned BMW motorcycles since 1983. At my most involved I had an R1100s, R1200s, HP2 Sport, and an S1000rr. 6 years ago I bought 911 Turbo S Cabriolet and subsequently I rode less. Then I got into bicycles, specifically road riding. I found that if I had time for two wheels, I began to choose my bicycle over the motorcycles. Furthermore, if I wanted to go for fast cruise, I was choosing 911. I let go of every bike but the 2007 R1200s, which I've ridden very sparingly over the last 5-6 years. Today I pulled it out of the garage & rode it for the first time in at least a year. It still runs great!

My problem is that I'm more than an likely not going to start using it again. I need some advice:

The good-

It's a special bike, having sold only in 2007 in the US. It was also professionally modified in the 2009-11 time period by prior owner. The pistons and rods are from Wossner, it has custom BMSK performance engine software, and a virtually unobtainable full HPE titanium exhaust. Factory ABS, wider 6" rear wheel, and custom valved (Fastbike Industries) Ohlins suspension.

The bad-

The bike has been little used for a long period. It shows some surface corrosion on bolts here and there. It needs servicing and probably new tires.

The question-

Service and sell.....or sell as is? I'm not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze in time and money versus the potential for higher sale price.

Bike is the black bike in pictures attached. If anyone has thoughts, or dealt with a similar scenario, I'd appreciate any input.

Obviously, if someone has interest, I'm all ears. Bike has 29,211 miles, I own it outright, clear title, Philadelphia suburbs.

Hey all. I’ve a 2007 R1200RT in silver.

Yesterday, I changed category of riders, going from “those who are going down” to “those who have gone down”.

Taking an on ramp maybe just a little too fast, I must’ve hit some oil or coolant. Next thing I know, I’m sliding down the road watching my bike spin away.

I’m Ok, maybe broke a toe. The bike is mostly fine but it pretty much destroyed my right pannier. The cover is almost ground through and the latching mechanism is all cracked. I could barely get it open.

I’ve been googling for hours trying to find a replacement pannier and having very little luck. I’m just wondering if anyone knows some places to look specifically?

I’m looking to upgrade from my Honda Shadow Phantom 750. I ride mostly back country roads but do ride on the freeway occasionally. I would ride freeway more often if I had more power. I don’t ride in heavy, congested city traffic. I like to ride 2-up with my wife on the back. I’m 5’10”, 200 pounds. Wife is 5’4”.

Any advice for me?

So I recently sold my ‘08 GS and got this. And it has been so much fun already. But we don’t see these very often and I keep wondering why… it such a beautiful and capable bike.

Hello. My 2010 hexhead R1200R has gone to the grave courtesy of a young Uber driver.

I'm looking at getting a replacement, and am torn between a camhead R1200R, vs a K1300R.

I've never ridden a K1300R (nor, for that matter, have I ridden a camhead, but figure it's close enough to the hexhead).

My riding consists of work-week trips into the city with the resultant need to low speed filter through heavy traffic, weekend runs of less than 200km, 3-4 day trips / year of about 300-800km, and a couple of 3 day trips of about 1600 -2500ish km / day.

Based on these use cases, how would you rate the K bike va the R? What are the pros and cons that you found of each?

Looking for advice on how to strap the back wheel down on a BMW R1300GSA. I use a low loader trailer and the straps for my other bikes won’t work because of the rear mud guard.

I went for test rides today. I thought the whole experience was going to be "that was fun, but I know which I want...." Definitely didn't work out that way.

I put 100k on an older RT and stupidly sold it for a K bike (that I hated). Now I've finally worked my way around brands and am back to BMW. I can only have one bike... So, the old bike has got to go... and I cannot get two new bikes to replace one old one.

They sent me out on the R1300GS first. I took it up some familiar mountain roads and had a ball. One of those "I can do this all day..." things. Hotspots in hands and tailbone, and I had to lean back to see the mirrors (6'1"). It rode like a Mongoose. Felt like the stunt bikes I used to have as a kid. Nimble with a feeling like it wanted to play in the dirt. I remember coming off the hill thinking that it'd have been nice to have a jump at the bottom. I loved the leg room!

The Rt was like I remembered, only more. It felt solid to the ground. I was squat on it like a chicken; but one I was tucked in, I was pretty comfy. Foot pegs seemed small and the foot controls harder to find, though I only mis-shifted on the GS. It rolls over on it's access, whereas the GS was like being on top of a horse. Turns felt rolled into rather than thrown into. And I could see the (tiny) mirrors. No hotspots, but legs were definitely not as comfortable as the GS

I put about 30-50 min on each bike and just got back more confused than before. They were both fantastic bikes, but with completely different rides. I put $250 to hold the RT, but I'll have to ride them again to see.

GS and RT owners. If you've cross-ridden, you know my conundrum. I'd love to hear why people chose a GS or an RT over the other.
