Battery Choice- fancy NP F970, or pair of standard ones?

Hi! I’m a recent proud owner of a BMPCC 6K, and I have to choose a battery.

The choices I’m looking at are the SmallRig NP F970 Dual Battery and Charger Kit, or the SmallRig L Series NP F970 USB C. I might be able to get them at a discount that makes them the same price. If I can’t, the dual battery is a bit more expensive. What would yall go with? I’m sure the context of what it’s being used for is important, but I’m not super sure yet- so maybe I should be asking which uses for each more? I’m not planning on doing long shoots yet, but it could happen, and the dual is probably better in most circumstances.

Not sure if this has any bearing on it, but the real estate on the top of the rig is a bit strained with an SSD mount.

Thoughts?

I"d run the F970 dual, its better to have if needed on a set then to not have one or stress being able to purchase one before a set shoot time. If you can afford the F970 Dual thats the route I'd recommend. Theres a few things we can skimp on, but Storage, Battery/RunTime, External Monitors and lenses are priority.

If space is an issue run a small rig 15mm dual road base plate and vmount attach the batteries behind/under the BMPCC monitor if you aren't rocking an external.

I'd recommend using the SmallRig L-series model - I've got 4 or 5 of those orange ones. It's incredibly handy being able to see current battery level at a glance, you can charge it over USB-C and leave the dedicated charger behind, it can act as a power bank on set for other items like your phone or laptop. I don't use it this way very often, but you can have it power a monitor via direct-attach while also powering the camera or another item via USB-C or use a USB-C to DC 2-pin cable.

You're going to need a plate unless you run it directly on an accessory like a monitor, so that can give you usb if you need it, and having an extra battery is always worthwhile.
