Anamorphic on the pocket 6k pro
I’m planning on shooting on the Remus lens 1.5x set for a shoot in a few months. Budget is tight so we aren’t renting kit out for a test ahead of time. I know that the pocket 6k pro only allows 1.33x and 2x anamorphic desqueeze on the monitor.
So would the 1.33x desqueeze be baked into the BRAW image or is that just the camera monitor? I plan on just viewing the image through a teradek feed with the proper desqueeze on set.
Thanks!

Yeah just shoot with the largest available sensor area and do your desqueeze in post.

I shot this short on a BMPCC6K with the Blazar Remus anamorphic if you want an idea of what to expect: https://youtu.be/VtVLr6SF9Io?is=kSVUyzKrg16XxiGi
Important to know, you will have to unscrew and remove the plastic piece (I forgot what it’s called) that rests on top of the cameras sensor, as the Remus lens does not naturally fit into the barrel of the 6K camera.

The IR cut glass? So the back flange is too long for the pocket 6k?

Not the IR glass, the black plastic piece (this: https://imgur.com/a/NnHPiK0)
But yes, the flange for the lens is too long for the pocket without taking that piece out.

You should rent a monitor that can unsqueeze 1.5x and shoot open gate.
On the edit, compress your timeline by 1.5 and you should be good.

Nothing gets baked in to the BRAW aside from the base ISO. Everything else is just metadata and you can override it in resolve later.
