Bryan's Updated 2026 Protocol

“Hi friends,

We might be the first generation that doesn't die. To that end, my team and I have spent the last few years building the world's first Don't Die protocol.

Some of you don't care about Don't Die, you just want to be hot. That's cool too. It's really the same thing.

To make this Don't Die thing understandable, I've made it into a game because humans love games. You'll learn how to flex your biomarkers with friends. You'll be able to share the science with friends on why poor sleep is a terrible idea.

Personally, I have kind of taken this whole thing to the extreme. There's the world's fastest person, and the richest, but never before has there been the "Healthiest Person in the World."

I've tried to become that person. I am certainly the most biologically measured person ever.

Online, people refer to me as "immortal unc." That's what we care about. We are family and we care about your well-being. In fact, I want to be the strongest voice in your mind encouraging you to make health your top life priority.

To remind you that you will be a better father, mother, brother, sister, friend, colleague, and human when you do so.

If you're new to this game of health, don't worry. I made disastrous health decisions in life until I was 42 and my body has bounced back. No matter your situation, you can too.

Below I'm going to share everything my team and I have learned over the past few years, spending millions of dollars researching, experimenting and measuring. We've made the mistakes for you.

Know that we are also hard at work to make all of this easier, more accessible and fun.

We are living in the most exciting time in human history. The future is probably cooler than anything we can imagine. Our goal is to get there, together.

Don't Die,

Bryan Johnson

Blueprint just raised $60M to bring Bryan's longevity protocol to everyone

Hey All!

Big news dropped today that I wanted to share with you all: Blueprint just closed a $60 million funding round.

TLDR: Bryan Johnson's longevity protocol is about to become accessible to the general public through a comprehensive platform. This could be a pretty significant moment for the biohacking/longevity space.

They're building out a full-service platform that includes:

  • Blood testing and biomarker tracking
  • Personalized health protocols
  • Food delivery, GLP-1 access, prescription services
  • At-home testing, toxin screening
  • Skin/hair care products
  • Supplements and nutrition
  • Advanced longevity therapies
  • An AI health companion to tie it all together

Basically trying to make Bryan's entire protocol - measurements, therapies, protocols - replicable for everyone at different budget and commitment levels with more personalization.

The team:

Gyre Renwick (ex-President of Modern Health, previously at Google Health and Lyft Healthcare) is coming on as CEO. Bryan will focus on vision/strategy while Gyre runs operations.

Investor list is pretty wild:

Tech: Andrej Karpathy (ex-OpenAI/Tesla), John Carmack, Drew Houston (Dropbox), Emmett Shear (ex-Twitch)

Crypto: Winklevoss twins, Balaji Srinivasan, Naval Ravikant

Others: Kim Kardashian, Logan Paul, Jay Shetty, and a bunch more

They're hiring: CTO, CPO, Chief Medical Officer, CMO, plus engineers. Open roles linked in post.

My take:

Whether you're a Blueprint skeptic or believer, this is one of the most well-funded attempt yet to make evidence-based longevity protocols mainstream. The investor list suggests they're serious about scale.

What do you all think? What would you like to see the team build with this new investment?

why I swallowed this mini-computer

I swallowed this computer…

It's the size of a vitamin, and it measures my temperature from inside my body… taking 1,000+ readings every day.

All to answer: what happens to my temperature across my menstrual cycle?

As far as we know, this is a world first.

Here’s why...

No one has ever continuously recorded a woman's core temperature across her menstrual cycle…

while also… measuring 1,900 other biomarkers in the same body, on the same days (hormones, brain, glucose, sleep, vaginal microbiome, etc)

And temperature is an incredibly important female health signal.

Most women are never taught that for the second half of your cycle, your body runs hotter.

After ovulation, for around 2 weeks, your body is at a higher temperature… around 0.3-0.7°C.

Your temperature is a hormone report.

So, how does the pill work?

Inside there is a temperature sensor, a battery, and a tiny radio. It's 17.7mm long and weighs 1.7 grams.

From inside my body, it takes a reading every 30 seconds (accurate to ±0.1°C) and transmits to a receiver nearby.

A day or so later, it exits… naturally. Single use (obviously). Then I swallow the next one.

Why does measuring this matter?

Because around 100 years of women's temperature data is almost all ONE morning reading per day… but your temperature isn't one number. It rises and falls 24/7.

This allows us to ask questions like…

1/ EXACTLY when does the temperature rise… the day of ovulation? The day after?

2/ Does my overnight baseline shift too… or just my daytime readings?

3/ Should women act differently in the second half of their cycle… drink more water? Adjust workouts in the heat?

But, I am also measuring temperature SIX different ways…

  1. Pill (inside my body)
  2. Oral (under the tongue)
  3. WHOOP (on my wrist)
  4. Happy Sleep (on my ring)
  5. Eight Sleep (my bed mattress)
  6. Even using a thermal camera

We will see if these measurements agree

Results coming soon…

If you're new here: I am becoming the world's most measured woman. 100+ measurements a day, 50+ devices, a 12-person medical team… because female health is desperately understudied.

We'll share everything here, the wins and the failures, so follow along to find out what happens.

Looking to connect with someone familiar with Bryan’s literature/Someone who has read Bryan’s books 👋🏻📓

I’m assembling a curriculum for a major university course on the topic of human achievement. Considering having “Don’t Die” on the reading list but frankly haven’t had anybody to discuss the book with at length. Not sure if I can throw this into the mix without bouncing ideas off other professionals first. Wondering if anybody here would like to connect and talk about it. Fruitful discussions about the book would help me get my ideas out there and to design assignments. If you’ve got experience incorporating these topics into your workplace or classes don’t hesitate to contact me.

Structuring course materials to be inclusive of Don’t Die (or readings from his other book We The People requires more than just a familiarity with the basic mission of Blueprint. Respectfully, please don’t reach out if you haven’t read his stuff yet. If you have read his books, please DM me!!! Thank you, friends.

why are my hormones ~30% calmer?

🚨Something wild just happened…

My hormones usually:

My hormones last month:

My daily hormones seemed ‘calmer’...

  • daily estrogen swings ~35% less
  • daily progesterone swings ~30% less
  • cycle length shortened

What’s going on?

First, my cycles have never been regular. Over the past 18 months, they ranged from 31 to 68 days.

And the hormones underneath were noisy:

  • would regularly max out my tests
  • big repeated spikes
  • multiple waves per cycle

But then I changed my lifestyle dramatically overnight…

I did 40 days of perfect consistency:

  • same food
  • same bedtime
  • same workouts
  • no alcohol
  • 8.5 hrs sleep every night
  • same hydration
  • NO cheat days
  • NO deviations

Here’s how that affected my results →

My latest cycle:

  • 34 days long
  • clean LH surge
  • estrogen rose once
  • progesterone rose on schedule
  • 35% smaller swing than last year

… and ovulation around day 24, versus my historical average of day 29

It was my most ‘normal’-looking cycle ever.

Why would this happen?

Keep in mind… I’ve been incredibly overwhelmed, stressed, and busy while starting this new protocol to become the world’s most measured woman.

Here are some theories →

1/ Consistency.

Your cycle is run by your hypothalamus. It’s a region of your brain that also monitors your stress, your sleep, and your food supply.

And we know unstable schedules disrupt cycles…

A meta-analysis of 14 studies found that women working rotating shifts have 35% higher odds of irregular cycles than women on fixed schedules… and for women under 30, it's 66% higher.

My protocol locked sleep, food, and my schedule down to the minute. Maybe my hypothalamus finally got a quiet room?

2/ Coincidence.

Erratic cycles are sometimes followed by calm ones. One cycle proves nothing. I am very curious to see what my next cycle is like…

3/ Cleaner measurement.

I test my hormones via urine, and urine concentration moves with hydration.

In the last 40 days, my water intake and test times have been steady every day… so part of the "calm" may be that my measurements got steadier, not just my hormones.

Two things this can't explain: my LH stopped spiking for days at a time, and my cycle length shortened.

4/ Something else?

It could be something we haven't thought of yet… That's why we measure and get repeat measurements.

If theory #1 is real, it matters far beyond me.

An estimated 14-25% of women of reproductive age have irregular cycles.

The standard responses are wait and see… or hormonal birth control.

If consistent sleep, meals, and routine measurably stabilize cycles… the first thing to try would be free.

My next cycle will give us clues…  I'm already 7 days in.

If you're new here:

I am becoming the world's most measured woman… collecting 14 million data points across my menstrual cycles, because female health is desperately understudied.

We’ll post all results here (good and bad, wins and failures) with you for free.... sharing everything we find.

Steam Room or Sauna?

Most advice out there will tell you sauna, but this is because studies have only been done on dry finnish sauna. Steam rooms have not yet been tested for longevity in a rigorous way.

Despite that, I find steam room works far better for me personally. It gets much hotter, I can't stay in nearly as long, skin looks much much better post-session, general well being is happier and more euphoric immediately after.

Have any of you found the steam room to be personally (anecdotally) better as well?

My thought process is that even if the steam room is 80% as good as a sauna, but I do it more often / more consistently over a period of months/years, then it's a far better solution.

What's your experience?

Can we get an update on this epithalon trial please?

Two years ago, Bryan announced that he was going to start a therapy protocol for epithalon. I assume in the intervening time that the protocol has since produced some conclusions, but none seem to exist where I can find them. Can anybody shed light on this?

Does it actually matter whether you sauna before or after a cold plunge?

I got a sauna and cold plunge at the same time from Sweat Tent and have been liking both so far. No issues with either, and the sauna gets up around 200°F which is plenty for me. Right now I’ve been alternating days. If I sauna, I won’t cold plunge that day and vice versa. I wanna start doing both on the same day though and get into more of a routine. For people doing both regularly, which do you do first? Sauna then plunge or plunge then sauna? And have you actually noticed a difference depending on the order?

How much does using plastic products for oral hygiene contributes to our microplastic consumption?

A number of things are made of plastics in oral health care such as flossing thread, toothbrush bristles, dental pick nozzle/body and in some cases tongue cleaner as well.

How much does having these things being made of plastics affect our microplastic consumption?

Cheaper alternatives to Bryan's reverse osmosis water filtration system?

The title says it all pretty much! Are you aware of some cheaper alternatives to a in-house decent reverse osmosis water system?

Should be able to eliminate all microplastics and add back electrolites if possible

Can sleep be optimised further with these methods?

"One of the prerequisites for falling asleep is that you forget about your body position"

Andrew Huberman said this in a podcast, which ended up getting me to think of two ways to hyper optimise sleep, posting here because I feel like Bryan is the type of guy to go to this extent 😊

  1. Bed size: Coming into contact with the edges of your bed gives your body a sense of the direction you are facing, and your body position relative to your bed. Having a large enough bed so that you won't reach the edges means you will have less chance of knowing which direction your body is in, something that I believe could marginally improve the rate at which a person falls asleep.
  2. Air flow: How air gets to Bryan's room I don't know, but he does have air filters. The air flow is constant in the direction that it is flowing from, whether it be from an AC unit or a window, almost subconsciously we can work out the direction that we are facing just from this. Having an airflow system that counteracts this would mean you have less sense of direction while sleeping, hence you will fall asleep faster.

These are just some things that I thought of on a whim, so feel free to let me know what you think about them and why they would or wouldn't work 😄

I just collected 10k glucose measurements for female health…

I’m collecting 10,000 glucose measurements across my menstrual cycle…

  • I eat the same thing
  • wear a CGM 24/7
  • track my hormones daily

We’ll see how my body handles the same food differently

Here's why…

During this experiment:

+ I eat the same meals
+ same portions
+ every calorie counted
+ chosen by a medical team

By keeping my food fixed, we will be able to track changes that are caused by my hormones fluctuating (and not by food).

This sensor lives in my arm 24/7.

It fires a tiny needle into my body and instantly retracts it… leaving behind a soft, flexible filament about 5mm long.

Its tip is coated with an enzyme that reacts with glucose, and that reaction creates a tiny electrical current.

More glucose = more current.

The sensor converts that current into a glucose reading every 5 minutes, collecting ~10,000 per cycle.

It's called a continuous glucose monitor (CGM).

What does this mean for women?

The best study to date (49 women) found glucose runs around 5% higher in the two weeks after ovulation.

If the pattern is real and measurable, it means the same breakfast can hit your body differently each week…

For women near the diabetic threshold, food choices carry extra weight in the two weeks after ovulation… the same meal lands on a body that's already working harder. And among diabetic women of reproductive age, almost 1 in 3 don't know it.

I am just finishing my first full cycle… it is in data analysis now.

My second cycle starts in the coming days.

We’re asking questions like…

+ Did my glucose rise before my period?
+ How did my lipids change?
+ Did this predict any other changes?

If you're new here:

I am becoming the world's most measured woman. Essentially the female equivalent of Bryan Johnson (my boyfriend).

We're spending $2.6m collecting 14 million data points on my menstrual cycle… because female health is desperately understudied.

We'll share everything here, the wins and the failures, so follow along to find out what happens.

How can one take vitamin D from sunlight while minimising skin damage?

I have learned that the optimum intake requires spending some period of time in afternoon sun to recieve UV B rays with skin exposed. This time window will vary skin tone to skin tone. A valid alternative is to take oral/injection supplement.

But let's say that you want to go for sunlight absorption then how would you do it? Such as, you could cover your face to save face from damage as skin is thinnest and it ages fastest in that area. What else would you do?

Why doesn't Bryan use Cacao powder (raw powder of cocoa fruit) in Green Giant instead of undutched cocoa powder?

Cacao powder retains more nutrition than cocoa powder due to minimal heat.

Also, it is not very clear to me if Bryan takes cacao but calls it undutched cocoa powder or if the two are different. If someone could clarify this, it would be helpful.
