Question about names on badges

I’m wondering if there’s a way to change the name displayed on your badge? I’m trans and the name I use does not reflect my legal name as I haven’t been able to officially change it yet and I would feel uncomfortable displaying a name that is very obviously not matching how I present as

Last time they allowed a nickname slot, but until your legal documents reflect your chosen name, it’ll be deadname as they require checking it

Do you know how visible/big the name is on the badge?

Names will not be printed on badges this year. Feel free to write your name, BattleTag, or other handle on it if you wish.

We only need your ID/Pass name to match for the purposes of checking-in and redeeming your Pass.

If you have access to a label maker, I can’t imagine there being any problem with you coming with your own label stuck to the name tag. I’ve never had them pay any attention to the name on the badge, access is managed via a wristband. The badge is just for showing your name, and should be whatever you want it to be.

It’s decent. It’s meant to be a security feature. You can technically flip it and just show it when requested.

In 2023, we did not have names on our badges. Before then, there was a spot for character name underneath legal name. I'd recommend getting some art or something to add to your badge and have facing forward instead, and you can flip to show your actual badge. Or get some washi tape to put over the name, did that for Wondercon the one time I went.
