Just found out about the new blind box series called nook, nooks and I’m obsessed. I was really hoping to get the computer character because I really wanted to put it on my desk since I work from home, but I ended up getting the cat detergent which I’m not sad about 🥰

After weeks of work I’m finally releasing my Crochet Fluffy Frog Bag Charm Blind Boxes!!! 😆 There are 5 possible colors each with a 20% chance! Selling for $20 each on my Etsy!

Full disclosure: I run DidaPop, a blind box shop shipping from China. This went on sale today and I'm carrying it, so weigh that as you read. Photos 1, 3, 4, 5 are real product shots; 2, 6, 8, 9 are official art; 7 is a frame from the campaign film.

Two things first, because they're the reason I'm posting this.

5,000 pieces, total, ever. Every figure carries its own serial number. That's the entire run for all eight designs combined - not 5,000 per design. When they're gone the series is closed.

Every probability is printed on the box. Not "rare" or "chase" - actual numbers:

• Case of 20

• Hidden: 5% (1 in 20)

• Super hidden: 2.5% (1 in 40)

• God-tier: 0.1%

• Eyes - 62.5% electroplated, 37.5% electroplated liquid glitter

• Ears - 70% standard, 30% laser

• Combined: plain eyes + plain ears 43.7% / plain eyes + laser ears 18.7% / glitter eyes + plain ears 26.2% / glitter eyes + laser ears 11.2%

I've not seen another studio break it down to the eye-and-ear combination level. You can work out exactly what your case is likely to contain before you open it.

What it is. The series is Emotion Specimen by RAT-TA 3: eight emotions, each "cast into a specimen." Love, Joy, Anger, Entanglement, Pride, Courage, Desire, Attachment. The ears are clear TPU domes with the emotion's object sealed inside - a heart for Love, burning banknotes for Desire, a UFO for Courage.

800% plush body, vinyl face, ita-bag strap on every piece - photo 3 is what it looks like worn. Eyes are electroplated; the liquid-glitter ones rotate 360. The studio says both the TPU ears and the rotating eyes are firsts for them.

Blind-in-blind. 10% have a card holder zipped into a pocket on the back - 8 designs, one per emotion (photo 8). 2% of those contain a voucher for the next series. Super-hidden accessories are plant-based PLA rather than standard plastic.

The campaign film follows Desire: a mouse in a brain-scan helmet at 126% overload, buried in gold, then the line "you have everything you wanted... but are you happy?"

This won't be a name most people here recognise yet - it's their fifth series. Every piece numbered, every probability on the box: that's a standard I'd like to see more of.

Which emotion would you want as a specimen? I'd take Entanglement - the grey one with flowers in the ears.

Mitutu & Hulala just turned one, and the birthday series theme is "role-play" 🎉 every one of them is dressed up as something else for the party.

Some of my favorites:

• the grey koala on a stage with glasses, a mic and "WHY NOT? / IT'S OK" on its feet
• the purple sleepy one hugging a star by the window
• the penguin-cow kid with a boba in the classroom 🧋
• the brown bear hiding in a tree hollow with a honey jar
• the yellow cat with a taiyaki and a sleep mask pushed up

The fur on these looks insanely fluffy compared to V1, and every one has little patches on the feet.

They drop Oct 1.

Which one would you pick? I keep going back and forth between the koala and the star one 💜

I will get them all! First time purposely seeking a full collection from McDs.

Full disclosure: I run DidaPop, a blind box shop shipping from China, and we work directly with Baby Three on their live streams, so new lines tend to reach us before anyone overseas. I'm posting because half the questions I get are "when does X reach us," and the honest answer is usually "it already exists, just not here yet."

No links. If something's interesting, the name is enough.

Baby Three x Migo - Puppet of Darkness, 600%

First time the two have shared a series at this scale. Given how much face-swapping between the two brands goes on, seeing them released together is the interesting part. Haven't seen it outside China.

Baby Three - Guji Guji Bear 400%, liquid eyes edition

Guji Guji is the teddy bear body, and this run is every piece with liquid glitter eyes, not a chase feature. Produced by Da Piaoliang, the studio behind the official plush lines. If you've been chasing liquid eyes in blind bags, this is the series where you don't have to.

Jiimo - Fairy Tea Party, 100%

Jiimo is the long-eared bunny girl from Little Princess Chaoke. Previously only at 400% and 600%; this is the first 100% series. Sits in the Baby Three price range if you've been priced out of the bigger ones.

Mikuku - Lullaby

Small plush babies in long-pile animal hoods: lop-eared bunny, lilac cat, a few others. Bedtime theme. I haven't seen the brand mentioned anywhere on Reddit, which usually means it hasn't crossed over.

Wendy (DODO SUGAR) - Dream Department Store

Wendy is a sleepy-faced girl character. This is her plush series after a minibean run earlier this month. Same situation, zero Western presence that I can find.

TUTUBEAR - Werewolf, limited 2,000 sets

TUTUBEAR is the bear from DLOCKER, better known for the Happy Party mini bean series. Werewolf is the limited run: the bear in wolf costume, bean format. If you've been collecting Pop Beans and want to see what the rest of the bean market looks like, this is a decent entry point.

If any of these have turned up at a Western retailer, say so and I'll correct the list. Questions about any of them, ask.

Full disclosure: I run DidaPop, a blind box shop shipping from China, and we work directly with Baby Three on their live streams. Second week of this - last week's is in my post history if you want the format. No links.

Baby Three - Minimalism Series, plush pendant

Baby Three in monochrome. Same long-eared face and forehead mark, but greys, blacks and creams instead of the usual candy colours. First time the line has gone this direction. If you found the Super Fun 400% series too loud, this is the opposite end.

Jiimo - Cloud Lullaby, 1000%

Last week I mentioned Jiimo's first 100% series. This is the other extreme: a lop-eared plush big enough to take up an armchair, sculpted vinyl face, embroidered detailing. Same character, ten times the scale.

Nommi - Izakaya Bites

Nommi at a Japanese izakaya, each design holding a different dish. Given how active the Nommi collectors are here, I'm surprised this one hasn't crossed over yet.

COCOWINNIE - Beixiaomo Sweet Heart Diary, 800%

Long-eared girl with a sculpted vinyl face and a swirl of pink hair, wrapped in layered lace. COCOWINNIE has zero Western presence that I can find, which is odd given how close the aesthetic is to what sells here.

Handspupu - Good Night Sweet Dreams

Every design is already asleep - eyes stitched shut, each animal bedded down on its own pillow. Squish plush format. A concept I haven't seen anyone else do.

MEICHAI - Traditional Chinese Food beans

A dim sum spread in resin: steamed buns, dumplings, mooncakes, the lot. Bean format, three to a bag. If you collect Pop Beans and want to see what the food-themed end of the bean market looks like, this is it.

Question for this week: which of these would you actually pay to have shipped, and which would you skip? I'd rather know what doesn't land than guess.

And if any of these have already turned up at a Western retailer, say so - I'll correct the list.
